JROTC Award Given at DAR Picnic to Anthony William Thursby on Sat. June 11, 2016. The Annual William Tuffs Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) held their annual summer picnic at the Willowdale Park Pavilion in Elkhart, Indiana on Saturday, June 11, 2016.At their abbreviated official meeting, they presented Anthony William Thursby with the JROTC Outstanding Recipient Award. He attended the picnic with his sister, Cassandra. The next DAR meeting is in September.As is the Chapter’s custom, they invited the Veterans from the Robert L. Miller, Sr. Veterans Center in South Bend, Indiana and the Color Guard organized by Ed Buras. Jamie and Ed Buras accompanied the Veterans to the picnic. The Color Guard extends Honors to Veterans at Funerals and participate in Parades and at other requested events. Those interested in this service, can contact Buras at the Center. DAR
Member Beth Thurston posed in front of her flag collection with Penny Bucks who made a special apron for Thurston. A delicious homemade buffet dinner complete with dessert was served, and afterward, the group played Bingo for the many white elephant prizes that had been brought by the DAR members. The remaining gifts after the game were given to the Center for those unable to attend the picnic.

Photograph taken at an altitude of Four metres, at 19:03pm on Saturday 20th September 2019 around sunset off the 17a West Saanich Road, at Patricia Bay a body of salt water that extends East from the Saanich Inlet and forms part of the North Saanich shoreline in the District of North Saanich in British Columbia.
It features a beautiful park which is at the south end of the Scoter Trail. Formerly known as Union Bay, the bay was named after Princess Patricia of Connaught, daughter of the Duke of Connaught who was Governor General in 1912.
The park has ties to transportation and the waterfront, and their pivotal role in the development of North Saanich. It is also tied to the development of the Victoria International Airport and military aviation efforts during the Second World War. In 1937, the airport was developed as one of six Royal Canadian Air Force Station training facilities on Vancouver Island.
The land was originally settled by the Tseycum First Nation (Union Bay Indian Reserve No.4) , one of four Saanich villages of Southern Vancouver Island in the area and part of the Northern Straits Coast Salish language group.
In the Sencoten langauge Tseycum is spelled Wsikem and means Land of Clay. The languages spoken include Lkwungen, Malchosen, Semiahmoo, SENĆOŦEN andT’Sou-ke and in 2023 the Chief is Tanya Jimmy, who was elected in July 2019. The Tseycum people have five reserves located at:
Bare Island 9, Goldstream 13, Pender Island 8, Saturna Island 7 and Union Bay 4.

Although the small fleet of RMLs refurbished for use on route 14 were also given repaints as well as having their former front air intake grille sections completely panelled off, curiously they did not carry any London General fleetnames on their lower panels thus giving the vehicles a rather bland and plain look as demonstrated here by RML 2321 having the route 22 stand at Putney Common all to itself in June 2005. If it was up to me I would have painted the London General RML fleet on routes 11, 14 and 22 in the standard red livery but with a cream relief band and I would choose the 1920s style of 'GeneraL' fleetnames in gold applied to the lower panels as was the case with DRM 2516 and RML 2732.
This Scion FRS was given a full bumper clear bra. The front bumper is a large area that tends to be more at risk for chips and other blemishes. By covering the bumper with Llumar's paint protection film the car will retain resale value.

Bangor bounce back against Ballymoney

Putting the disappointment of last week’s defeat at Instonians behind them, Bangor produced a solid performance at home to beat Ballymoney by 20-13.
This was going to be an interesting and important fixture given the nature of Bangor’s defeat against Instonians and Ballymoney’s win at Portadown last weekend. Although at different ends of the league, the earlier meeting at Kilraughts Road was a dogged affair, with Bangor only managing to get on top within the closing stages of the game. Starting as favourites for this fixture, Bangor started brightly, but after 23 minutes of missed opportunities by Bangor, it was Ballymoney who started the scoring with a penalty. This was the spur the home side needed, and just 5 minutes later Mike Aspley, making a welcome return from injury, made a great run through the centre before passing to Mark Widdowson on the left wing. Mark’s clever chip over the advancing defence was caught cleanly and then carried over for an unconverted try, and putting Bangor ahead by 5-3.
Ballymoney returned to the attack and pushed Bangor back into their own twenty two. Although on the back foot, Bangor secured their scrum and quickly broke out of defence. It was Aspley again who made the decisive break before passing to Davy Charles on the right wing. Although chased down by the Ballymoney winger, Charles shrugged off the tackle to score under the posts, which Widdowson subsequently converted, for a half time lead of 12-3.
Bangor looked good for their two tries so far, but if their off-loads when tackled and handling in general had been more controlled, there is every chance they could have secured a 4-try bonus point by half this stage. Hopes were therefore high that they would settle quickly in the second half and steadily work towards this.
Unfortunately, from the opening kick-off by Ballymoney, Bangor knocked the ball on, giving the visitors an attacking scrum inside Bangor’s twenty two. However, the forwards had proved strong so far, and were causing problems for their opponents. On this occasion, a concerted push overpowered the Ballymoney pack, and Bangor were able to turn the ball over, winning a penalty in the process. With this initial panic over, Bangor built good attacking platforms but, just like in the first half, their passing and handling fell short at crucial moments and more scoring chances went begging. Bangor’s frustration was compounded after just 8 minutes when a Ballymoney penalty was kicked to touch, deep inside their opponent’s twenty two. From the resulting line-out, the Ballymoney forwards produced a driving maul that Bangor were unable to stop, resulting in a try, which was also converted, narrowing the score to 12-10.
Once again, it looked like Ballymoney weren’t going to lie down. The touchline spectators may have been getting a little nervous, but the Bangor men stuck to the task and after a further 13 minutes were rewarded with another good score. From another secure Bangor scrum in their own half, Curtis Stewart picked up at number eight and barged his way through the immediate Ballymoney defence. Having broken through the line, he passed to Charles on his right. Once again Charles sprinted off down the touchline, and again was pursued by his opposite number. This time the tackle was more effective, but Charles’ pace was enough to see him squeeze over in the corner for his second try. Widdowson’s conversion wide, but the lead was now a little more comfortable at 17-10.
By now, Bangor’s forwards were dominating the scrums and, having won a penalty inside Ballymoney’s twenty two, and in front of the posts, it may have crossed captain Jamie Clegg’s mind to go for another scrum which would hopefully build a good platform to go for their bonus point try. However at this stage in the game, and with only a converted try between the two sides, Clegg wisely opted for the kick at goal, which Widdowson successfully converted, stretching the lead to 20-10 and denying the visitors a losing bonus point.
From the restart, Bangor repeated their earlier mistake by knocking the ball on again. Further mistakes shortly afterwards gave Ballymoney a penalty which they successfully kicked, bring the score back to 20-13, and restoring their losing bonus point.
As the game entered its final minutes, Bangor looked strong and were pressing forward again. However, more knock-ons saw another opportunity go begging and, before they could apply more pressure to the now-tiring Ballymoney scrum, the referee blew for full time. Bangor will be thankful to have returned to winning ways, and without any serious injury concerns. However, the poor display in basic ball-handling skills was costly as it undoubtedly denied them a valuable bonus point.
Next week sees Bangor travel to Armagh to play their 2nds in the Towns Cup. This will certainly be a stern test but will also help to prepare for Bangor’s biggest game in recent years – the final of the All Ireland Junior Cup against Dundalk the following week. With Bangor’s 2nds and 3rds performing well and sitting at or near the top of their respective leagues, and also still in cup competitions, these are exciting times at Upritchard Park.

Opened 17 Apr 1864 on land given by Patrick McNamara, also used as school, closed 1916, demolished 1925, stone used for house in Auburn, bell to Auburn Methodist (now Uniting), church. A coping stone from church given to National Trust for safe-keeping was incorporated in cairn erected 2014.

A Brief History of the Castle
After the Norman Conquest, in 1069, the land around Middleham was given to Alan Rufus or Alan The Red, a nephew of William the Conqueror. Rufus built a wooden motte-and-bailey castle, 500 yards to the south-west of where the present castle stands, on a site known as William's Hill. It was built to guard Coverdale and to protect the road from Richmond to Skipton. Alan Rufus was also the builder of nearby Richmond Castle. By the time of the Domesday Book in 1086 Middleham had been granted to Alan Rufuss brother Ribald. This early castle was abandoned in the 12th century when a new castle was built centered around a massive stone keep . The construction of the present castle began around 1170 by Robert Fitzrandolph (grandson of Ribald) during the reign of Henry II when he built the keep and original bailey. The keep, one of the largest in England, had twelve foot thick walls and three floors; for its time, this would have provided palatial accommodation. It contained a great chamber, large kitchen, chapel, dovecot, cellars and the living rooms of the lord of Middleham.
At each end of the keep's vaulted basement there were two wells (which can still be seen today). The thirteenth century curtain walls formed an enclosure around 250 feet on each side. In the fourteenth and fifteenth century the garrison quarters, stables and stores were housed within these walls.
Original entry was via a gatehouse on the East side of the castle across a wooden bridge (possibly having a drawbridge over a now dry moat). The huge wooden gates and probable portcullis must have presented an awesome first impression! The present day entrance to the castle is through the Northern gatehouse, known as the Neville Gate.
Middleham Castle became home to some of the most powerful lords of the 15th century, including Salisbury, Warwick and Richard, Duke of Gloucester, later King Richard III, he was particularly fond of Middleham. The round tower at the south-west corner of the curtain wall, traditionally known as the Prince's Tower, is said to be where Richard's son Prince Edward was born and died.
After Richard was killed at the Battle of Bosworth in 1485 Henry VII became king, and Middleham Castle became his. Under the Tudors the castle was left to fall into disrepair.
In 1604 James I granted the castle to Sir Henry Linley, who made some repairs and lived there until his death in 1610 when his daughter Jane Linley then inherited the castle. In 1613 Jane married Edward, 2nd Viscount Loftus, who occupied it until 1644. During the Civil War it was to be used as a prison.
In 1646 Parliament ordered the east range wall be destroyed along with most of the wall-walks, thus leaving the castle the shell it is today.
In 1662 it was sold to Edward Wood, his family owning the castle until 1889. It was then sold to Samuel Cunliffe-Lister, 1st Lord Masham, and was inherited by the second Lord Masham in 1906. In 1925 the Office of Works, later to become English Heritage, acquired the castle and it is now in their keeping and open to the public.

So yesterday I was given the opportunity to photograph Shadow Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper. I'm not going to lie, I was pretty nervous about it all, this being possibly the most important or famous person i'd photographed, didn't want to balls it up! I turned up at her constituency office to find that she was going to be a little late, but that meant more time for setting up and making sure the shot was right. Once she was there I was ready to go, 30 shots later she had to go, not the greatest amount of time to shoot anyone but definitely an insight into regular newspaper work.

The CPMR’s Intermediterranean Commission (IMC) has given its full backing to key plans for a territorial alliance aimed at developing a long-term strategy to build a sustainable future for all citizens in the Mediterranean.
The ‘Mediterranean Cooperation Alliance Joint Declaration’ was signed by political representatives from 5 Mediterranean organisations - including the IMC, the Euroregion Pyrénées-Méditerranée (EPM), MedCities, Latin Arc, and the Adriatic-Ionian Euroregion - at a major international seminar on ‘The Future of the Mediterranean Region after 2020’, held in Barcelona on 4 February being co-organized by the Catalan Government, the EPM and the IMC and attended by more than 200 participants.
This event and signature were performed in the broader framework of the “Mediterranean Catalonia Forum,” that focused on reinforcing the importance of the Mediterranean worldwide and the crucial role of regional cooperation in the EU and Euro-Mediterranean agenda and policies.
It was held back-to-back with the renewal of the Presidency of the Euroregion Pyrénées-Méditerranée, from the Government of Catalonia to the Balearic Islands, and the organisation of the CPMR Intermediterranean Commission Political Bureau.
The signature of the “Mediterranean Cooperation Alliance” was attended in particular by politicians of all the involved networks and will remain open for other key actors to endorse it in the future.
Its priorities, among others, are as follows:
• The demands that governing institutions – considering the post-2020 horizon and the two next programming periods – work harder towards the implementation and integration of emerging sea basin, macro-regional strategies and other connected initiatives and cooperation instruments, so as to build a common, more cohesive sustainable and co-owned Mediterranean macro-region involving all the territorial actors;
• Structuring a strong and operational multi-level and multi-stakeholder network, in order to work – together with EU and Euro-Mediterranean Institutions - in a more integrated way in the long run, to design and develop common projects and to support policies based on capitalization of results (e.g. from the Interreg MED Thematic Communities);
• Offering firm support to cooperation at political and technical levels between regional and local stakeholders in the EU, the IPA countries and non-European Mediterranean partner countries, as well as among all the components of the four helix: public and private sector, academia and non-governmental organizations/civil society.
Given the increase in demand for healthy diets and OFSP, the CGIAR Research Program on Roots, Tubers and Bananas (RTB) provided the International Potato Center (CIP) with a scaling grant to accelerate the use of OFSP puree in baked and fried products in Kenya, Malawi and Uganda. The project launch for Kenya was held on 31st May, 2019 at ILRI Campus in Nairobi.

Graduate lawyers are being given starting salaries as a high as £ 150,000 as pay inflation hits its highest level in 20 years, according to a recruiter.
Alan Bannatyne, chief financial officer at recruitment consultancy Robert Walters, said some firms are increasing their salaries by up to 50 per cent amid a 'fierce competition for talent'.
Newly certified lawyers at the most renowned companies are even earning a maximum of £ 147,000 before bonuses, reports the BBC.
City banks are also among those raising graduate's salaries, while supermarkets such as Sainsbury's, Morrisons, Lidl and Aldi have boosted wages to at least £ 10 an hour.
The rise in salaries follows openings for law associates in London increasing around 131 per cent year-on-year between January and November 2021, according to figures from analytics firm Vacancysoft and recruiter BCL Legal.
Overall, job adverts hit a record high in the run-up to Christmas, with 210,000 vacancies posted in the UK between November 22 and 28, taking the total to 3.51million active postings.

Spirit Taurus:
Before diving into our detailed study of “language” and the Holy Ghost baptism, first, it would be enough to cover other important things about the Holy Spirit. For starters, who or what is the Holy Spirit?
The Holy Spirit is not a “thing” or “it”. The Holy Spirit is a “person”. The Holy Spirit is called the personal pronouns in the New Testament several times. Many scriptures refer to the Holy Spirit “there”, “he”, “his” or “himself” (John 14: 16-17; John 14:26; John 15:26; John 16: 7-8; John 16: 13 -14; Romans 8: 26-27; 1 Cor 24:11). Other texts refer to the Holy Spirit as “I” or “Me” (Acts 10: 19-20; Acts 13: 2; Apocalypse 2: 7; Apocalypse 2:17). The Holy Spirit is given the attributes of the “person” in the Bible. Many documents disclose that the Holy Spirit “speaks” and said that the Spirit “tells” or “tells” (Acts 10: 19-20; Acts 13: 2; Apocalypse 2: 7, 11, 17 and 29; 3 Apocalypse : 6, 13 and 22). Romans 8: 26-27 says that the Holy Spirit “ora” and a “ghost”. 1 Corinthians 00:11 shows that the mind has a “will”. In Ephesians 4:30, we learn that the Holy Spirit are “grieved”. Furthermore, Acts 5: 3-4 says that the Holy Spirit, “log” are. And 1 John 5: 6 tells us that the mind can “testify.”
According to the Bible, the Holy Spirit is not just one person; It is a “divine” person. Several New Testament passages show that the Holy Spirit is God. Scripture states that the Holy Spirit is “blasphemed” and only God can be blasphemed (Matthew 12: 31-32; Mark 3:29; Luke 12:10). is listed 18-20 tells us that not only baptized in the name of the Father and of the Son, but also on behalf of the Holy Spirit, and only the “divine” nature in this “Great Commission” of Jesus to his disciples in Matthew 28 Passage. The Bible says that Jesus, the divine Son of God, was “designed”, the Holy Spirit, and that he, the “child” of the Holy Spirit (Matthew 1: 18-20) was. If Jesus is the Son of God, and he is the “child” of the Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit must be God. In a similar manner, in Luke 01:35, reveal the Scripture that the Holy Spirit “came upon” Mary, to produce “saints”, the Son of God, Jesus Christ. And in Acts 5: 3-4, we are told that when Ananias took the Holy Spirit, he lied to “God”.
At this point, before the baptism of the Holy Spirit and “languages” to discuss the matter, it would be appropriate to mention a few important things. The Bible is clear that there are three members of the Trinity: God the Father, God the Son (Jesus Christ) and Holy Spirit. The Christian God is a “God” will manifest itself in three separate divine beings. Several writings refer to God through the “plural”, “we” or “our”, pronouns such as Genesis 1:26, Genesis 3:22 ET Genesis 11: 7 and more headings to the three members of the Trinity point the same way, as Matthew 28:19, Luke 03:22, John 14: 16-17, John 15:26 and 2 Corinthians 1:14 pm .. Further, in John 8: 17-18, Jesus refers to the father and himself as two distinct and separate controls. Further, in John 1: 1-2, the Bible says that Jesus was “with” God but that Jesus himself was God; it would require a “plural” God.
The baptism of the Holy Spirit is one of many “work” by the Spirit. Other important works of the Holy Spirit are mentioned in this paragraph. He is our Comforter, assistant or advisor (John 14: 16-17). He teaches us and brings things Jesus said again to our remembrance (John 14:26). He testifies of Jesus (Jn 15:26). He convicts of sin, righteousness and judgment (John 16: 7-11). He leads us to the truth and tells of “things to come” (John 16:13). It glorifies Jesus (John 04:14). He “lives” in us (Eph 2: 19-22; John 14: 16-17). It “seals” us, which is the deposit, serious or guarantee of our inheritance (Ephesians 1: 13-14; 2 Cor 1:22). the “fruit” of the Spirit in our lives, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control (Galatians 5: 22-23) occurs. And he gives us the “gifts of the Spirit” are: the word of wisdom, word of knowledge, faith, gifts of healing, working of miracles, prophecy, discerning of spirits, tongues, interpretation of tongues, apostle, teacher “Help”, administrations , evangelists, pastors, ministry, exhortation or encouragement, generosity .

now front blue has been given second coat, more grey applied, red backend , although some red went over bottom skirt which is to be darker blue this will be all sorted before second coat is applied, will wait for this to dry out for a few days before masking anymore off, all thats left to do today is finish the grey coats along the sides and that'll be all apart from an attempt to make a new chassis this evening.
