Yes! Yes! Yes! after over a years time I have finally completed what I started in the very beginning of F2K. My two male reroots are dunzo! I can honestly say, the long gap in time was worth it.
Lets take a quick journey down the history of Nick's hair...
His original planned look, as mentioned in "Hair Today - Gone Tomorrow" would have given him a much darker but bolder shade of red that was planned to be a standard full reroot. Though after just a few plugs I wasn't feeling that color on him at all...
On to the second try, seen in "Crowd Surfing", I had chosen a new shade of red that I was content with until recently when I had finally took to restart his reroot.
This time I wanted to try my hand at a reroot / flock blend that I've loved so much on others dolls, especially Dawn's, so I pulled out his side plugs and was ready to begin. Then I all of a sudden I couldn't get over the fact that the color he had was so close to Drew's that they were starting to look like relatives, and I wasn't feeling that at all.
Rifling through my doll storage for his now third color change I found what I thought could possibly be his perfect shade. Of course it was on Midge's head but hey... since I have two of her I used the one from the Dreamhouse 2 pack and here we finally have the results.

...and let me tell you, Raquelle was über happy that her BF could finally stop wearing those tired old hats all the time ;-p

First impression: Wow! Ginger clearly steals the show. Here is a new character who can go toe to toe with Poppy and even win.
Yes, I like her very much.
So sieht eine ganze Ingwerpflanze aus. (Um die ganze Pflanze, etwa 1 Meter hoch, zu zeigen, habe ich zwei Segmente vom Stängel herausgeschnitten).
A whole Ginger plant looks like this. (To show the whole plant, about 1 meter high, I cut out two segments from the stem.)
I was weeding a bed in the polytunnel and uncovered this. I had sort of forgotten about planting some ginger root in the polytunnel last June. I watched it grow, was waiting for the legendary flowers (which never actually happened) and then I just forgot about it as the follage died back in Autumn. It was surrounded by parsley which I have been harvesting all winter and some weeds were growing over it. ....a nice surprise when weeding to get this root!
Cool to have grown a decent lump of ginger root.
I'll probably use it in a simple stir-fry - ginger, fresh pineapple, onion and chicken with some soy sauce added.

My newest full custom girl for November.
I wanted to do a redhead girl for so long. And I'm happy that I finally could work on her.
And I'm absolutely happy about her outfit:
She comes with a super cute casual outfit made by the talented and lovely Private Dolls <3 Her sweater-dress-combination looks so comfy and cute, doesn't it??

For some reason the photos make this wig look Ginger....it's blonde! But actually, I think the colour looks okay. Should I become a redhead?
Now the curled leaves of the ornamental ginger emerge to join the flower stems. Another ornamental ginger, the pine cone ginger, does the same thing. Out of bare ground, flower stems emerge, then the leaves, rolled tight like a kid's peashooter show up. A beautiful and sturdy addition to our mild0to-hot climate in zone 8b south Alabama.
Ginger is my friend Shaiyan's Lizbel :) I really like her her stock hair. She's definitely one of my fave dals :)
Her dress is also handmade by her, definitely one of my most talented friends:)
She came with Amber on our recent trip :)

This is the opened-up cluster of blooms of a potted ginger plant on my patio. it's not the edible ginger we know, this one is called " Variegated shell ginger"
