The Ghost Train is an annual event in Chesapeake. The 1 1/4 mile main trail between the entrance and the Northwest River is filled with static displays and the "Ghost Train", wooden wagons pulled by a tractor, takes people down the trail at night where live actors are added to the spooky displays. The local community is heavily involved every year.

A reworking of a shot I posted in colour a few months ago. It's a 30 second exposure of a train crossing Richmond Railway Bridge at dusk.

We have to make sure that the track is the right gauge so the guide trolly won't get stuck or derail.

I'm going to be late with this theme. Today was dull, grey and wet and was also the Chrsitmas Fayre. Not my favourite weather for photos but I spotted this ghost train.

Next Sunday is the toy run - loads of motor bikes and cars driven by Sanatas. The convoy takesa about 30 minutes to pass by. Loads of photo oppertunities.

It is that time of the season again and the normally genteel Stanley Park miniature train is being transformed into a ghost train to start the Halloween season. The theme for 2010 is Alice in Nightmareland. You can follow the fairytale princess and witness how she combats her opponents through the dense forest inhibited by a fire dragon, zombies, voodoo deities, wicked witches, evil cards, butchers and body-snatchers. The Ghost Train runs from 6PM-10PM and tickets are available at 3PM in the afternoon. [Photos and video by Ray Van Eng] www.vancouver21.com

"Luna Park Sydney (originally Luna Park Milsons Point, also known as Sydney's Luna Park) is an amusement park, in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Luna Park is located at Milsons Point, on the northern shore of Sydney Harbour.

The park was constructed at the foot of the Sydney Harbour Bridge during 1935, and ran for nine-month seasons until 1972, when it was opened year-round. Luna Park was closed in mid-1979, immediately following the Ghost Train fire, which killed six children and one adult. Most of the park was demolished, and a new amusement park was constructed; this originally operated under the name of Harbourside Amusement Park before resuming the Luna Park name. The park was closed again in 1988 as an independant engineering inspection determined that several rides needed urgent repair. The owners failed to repair and reopen the park before a New South Wales government deadline, and ownership was passed to a new body. Reopening in 1995, Luna Park closed again after thirteen months because of the Big Dipper rollercoaster: noise pollution complaints from residents on the clifftop above the park caused the ride's operating hours to be heavily restricted, and the resultant drop in attendance made the park unprofitable. After another redevelopment, Luna Park reopened in 2004, and as of 2009 is still operating."

I'm figuring out how much room the cars need to make the curves so they don't scrape the walls.
