These photos were taken during our last game drive whilst at the camp. The boys were herding Dorper sheep on a neighbouring property - the afternoon light was perfect (now I see why my daughter loves doing her photo shoots at this time of the day).

We leave Capetown in the morning and fly back to Johannesberg where we will pick up another car and drive to Marloth Park. We have no internet access there so we will be off the air for a week or so.

This is my photo for the group 52 in 2014 - #40 Square. This is my new eyeshadow pallet, but Miss Sabrinah has her eyes on it LOL.

This little baby was running around trying to show how tough it was LOL. It was so cute to watch. Taken in Kruger National Park on one of our game drives. See other photo in the first comment box.

Peter has been to South Africa 5 times and I have been 3 times and this is the first time that we have seen the elusive Leopard.

We were driving through Kruger on our way to meet up with my Flickr friend Piet when we came across a car parked in the middle of the road. When we edged around the side of the car I saw a spotted tail and realised it was a Leopard. It sat there for quite a while staring into the undergrowth and I realised that it was stalking some Impala. It went to the side of the road and the Impala became nervous, so it sat up still watching intently. We didn't have time to wait to see if it continued to stalk the Impala as it was a long drive to Satara Rest Camp.

This Magpie visits our garden at least three times a day as Peter gives it meat to feed it's babies. Today it arrived with a gift for Peter to thank him.

This is my entry for the weekly challenge:

52 weeks of photos project

This week's theme is macro/up close

Because I still can't pick up my camera, I am delving into the archives.

The Kot Diji Fort, formally known as Fort Ahmadabad, is an 18th-century Talpur-era fort at the edge of the Thar Desert. The fort sits above a pre-Harappan Civilization archaeological site dating to 2500 to 2800 B.C.E.

I found these photos when I was going through the archives. It was from a mini shoot that my daughter was doing, so I tagged along with my camera and snapped away (as you do LOL). My granddaughter looks so little here.

I have decided to join Nina on her challenge to add a flower photo a day for 365 days.

Tomorrow I go in for more surgery to remove the plate and screws from my wrist as the surgeon feels that they are causing irritation and pain. I found Flickr my saviour during my recovery after the last operation so I will be here checking out your wonderful photos, but unable to leave comments (unless I type one finger which is so slow.

This is my photo for the 52 in 2015 challenge - #1 Rightangles. This is a jigsaw that I bought probably 30 years ago for one of my daughters. My grandchildren now have fun completing it.

When we were driving around Kruger, we often came across Kudo cows and occasionally the magnificent Kudu bull.

Alta has the largest concentration of rock art in Northern Europe made by people with a hunting-fishing economy. The rock art consists of carvings and paintings made between ca 7000 to 2000 years ago.

As we are fully booked now to visit South Africa, I thought I had better start going through my photos of our trip to Scandinavia and the UK. I still haven't been through them all to decide which photos I will have printed for my albums - I will have to get a move on.

It was a cooler day today and we went for a drive to a lagoon not far from our place. I took my newish Tamron 150 - 600 lens out for a test run with the water birds that are usually there. I am impressed with the quality so far, although I took the UV filter off for these photos. After coming home, I realised that I should have taken some photos with the filter on for comparison.

After a hot day yesterday (although not as hot as predicted), we have had an overcast, cooler day today. We even had thunderstorms and rain this afternoon.

Our trip to South Africa was not just for the animals, although they are a major part. We did a 6 day guided tour of the Garden Route when we first arrived in South Africa. This is the guest house that we stayed in on our first night of the tour. It was supposed to be a tour for up to 7 people, but as we were the only people booked at the time, we were chauffeur driven around in a car, which was amazing.

These are some photos of a Yellow Hornbill (the photos posted yesterday were of a Red Hornbill). I also took photos of a Hornbill with a black bill which will be uploaded later. I never really noticed before, but I agree with a lot of people that they look angry.

or his crazy alter ego LOL. I made this rabbit the other night and it has been chosen by my grandson who also has a quirky personality.

Happy Easter everyone!!

Tewkesbury - The Historic Town of Tewkesbury in Gloucestershire where time stood still for 150 years ensuring the preservation of its medieval character and layout to the present day.

Tewkesbury is now a thriving town and at the same time is a living museum of architecture and social history spanning over 500 years. The town has such a perfectly preserved medieval character that in 1964 The Council of British Archaeology listed it amongst 57 towns "so splendid and so precious that the ultimate responsibility for them should be of national concern".

Tewkesbury is a pure delight to behold and we have no hesitation in highly recommending it as a 'MUST' place to visit by all tourists visiting the northern Cotswolds Gloucestershire region - an effort that will be amply rewarded in the memories and images you will forever keep and treasure.

During out travels we came across a gypsy camp as we were headed to see the Cerne Abbas giant. The giant is cut into the hillside above the village of Cerne Abbas near Dorchester in Dorset. The figure is over 180 feet high and his ' virility' is very obvious! During Roman times he was identified as Hercules and associated with a fertility cult, or Priapus Worship, revived by Emperor Commodus in the late 2nd century AD.

Until 1635 a maypole was set up near the giant and today 'courting couples' still make night-time pilgrimages up to the giant to make sure that their marriage will be blessed with children! Women it seems are supposed to roll over the giant's 'male appendage' to make sure that their fertility will be enhanced!!

I have now ordered a photo book of my trip. I ordered and paid when we were travelling around and I had 3 months to create the book. I made it with 8 days to spare.

Five weeks today we will be flying out of Australia on our next adventure. We are going on an 8 day tour of France before flying to London, picking up a car and driving to this little cottage in Barton, Warwickshire. We have stayed here twice before and love the experience of staying in a 17th century Tudor cottage.

This is one of my decorations that I have had since my children were little. I was thinking of downsizing my Chrissie tree next year, but what would I do with all my ornaments.

I gave these little musical dolls to my late Aunt for her birthday many years ago and after her death they were given back to me. My granddaughters love to play with them and they still play a tune and the body moves like a real baby when laid on a flat surface.

I also found this white Hebe when walking around the Mt. Tomah Botanical Gardens - now I have seen white, pink, purple and deep crimson. The bees were going crazy for the white. I am also adding an interesting letter box (mail box) that we saw.

I wandered around to my neighbour's garden again this morning. I hope the new owners don't mind me visiting (or worse still, pull out all the plants). I spotted this tiny Skipper Butterfly land on the daisies which are only about 2,5 cms in diameter.

I was sick yesterday with a tummy bug (I was feeling smug that I may have missed out LOL). When we were away in Hervey Bay, my son's family succumbed, and on arriving home my daughter and granddaughter were ill. I am feeling much better today, thank goodness.

We have been busy travelling backwards and forwards to the Central Coast - I promise I will catch up properly tonight.

The Pontcysyllte Aqueduct is a navigable aqueduct that carries the Llangollen Canal over the valley of the River Dee in Wrexham County Borough in north east Wales. Completed in 1805, it is the longest and highest aqueduct in Britain. The aqueduct, built by Thomas Telford and William Jessop, is 1,007 ft (307 m) long, 11 ft (3.4 m) wide and 5.25 ft (1.60 m) deep. It consists of a cast iron trough supported 126 ft (38 m) above the river on iron arched ribs carried on nineteen hollow masonry piers (pillars). Each span is 53 ft (16 m) wide.

Peter walked partly across the aquaduct, but I couldn't - my legs were turning to jelly just standing at the start of the pathway.

I have added 5 more photos in the first comment box.

Still a few bugs around in the garden.

From the gang on Rathlin Island who are suitably ignoring my request for them to sing Happy Birthday to you.

Judging from the blank looks on their faces, it seems they haven't learnt human speak.

Gareth is 30 today, a big milestone, but he is still my baby no matter what age.

And you can stop cringing Gareth!!

Another of my old Christmas decorations. My daughter and grandchildren popped in after school and were oohing and aahing at the Christmas tree. I let them choose a favourite decoration each to take home to hang on their tree, but these are two of my favourites, so they are still on the tree LOL.

This is a little Hallmark ornament I bought in 2002 to celebrate my granddaughter's first Christmas. I have at least one for each of my 8 grandchildren and a special Hallmark ornament to my angel granddaughter born still in 2001.

Thought I would go for three in a row as I really am very fond of mushrooms, and besides they are all different.

Our front lawn has proved to be quite a fertile growing area for shrooms because its shaded for most of the day with some big trees for them to hide under.

Actually the shaggy ink caps pop up everywhere but I found this little one hiding underneath the privet bush which required some acrobatics from me in order to photograph it with the sun behind it.

Sadly this variety don't last very long, two days at the most before the outer skin curls up and starts dripping ink. I was reading that you can actually use their ink for writing. You just have to boil it with some cloves to fix it.

Not that I am going to try it!!!

I am still more than a little bemused over my last photo getting nearly 70,00 views. There is nothing in my stats to indicate why this happened so it will remain a source of mystery to me!

This is my photo for the group, 52 in 2015 Challenge - #49, A Bird.

We had a very emotional and stressful day yesterday with my brother. We woke to a phone call from the hospital to let us know that he was having problems with dangerously low blood pressure and warning us that it was touch and go. A couple of hours later the Orthopaedic surgeon and Anesthetist rang to say that he was being taken to surgery to repair the break in his leg as they were having trouble managing the pain and surgery was the best option, but we had to agree with them doing the surgery as he was really not well and may not come through. We knew that he would not want to be left crippled along with all his other problems, so we agreed. After a long day we were told that he had come through surgery with a couple of "interventions" and was in intensive care. I rang this morning and he is very drowsy, but doing well.

I was nominated by Angela to do the B&W challenge for 5 days - this is #1. This was not too difficult as he is a white dog LOL - my daughter's Whippet, Shiloh.

This is my photo for the 52 in 2015 Challenge - #10 - Something smelly. I have had this perfume for quite a while and I found it in the back of the wardrobe when I was looking for something else (as you do). It was my favourite perfume at the time and I thought that it may have spoiled over the years, but I was surprised to see that it is still okay, so it is on the dressing table now so I remember to use it.

The Chaukhandi tombs are an early Islamic cemetery located in the Sindh province of Pakistan. The Chaukhandi tombs are remarkable for the exquisite stone carving. Historians recognised them as an Islamic necropolis because all the tombs are in the direction of the Holy Kaaba (an Islamic site for prayers).

We went for a drive today to Mt. Wilson in the Blue Mountains and we came across some of these red mushrooms. There were so many dotted around the side of the road - the first time I have ever seen them with my own eyes. We didn't see any fairies though.

I couldn't resist this photo today of my grandson and my doggy grandson. Shiloh is now around 6 months now and has lost his puppy looks and he is a real escape artist. We put him outside for a while and when I went out to take some photos, he had disappeared (we had forgotten that the side fence has been pulled down prior to a new one going up LOL). Luckily he hadn't gone too far.

This is my photo for the challenge 52 in 2014 - #33 Footwear. My littlest granddaughter is now three and for the last 12 months has been going crazy every time she sees something with Peppa Pig. These are her new shoes for the cooler months and of course they are Peppa Pig shoes that light up when she walks.

I was in the garden today with my daughter and granddaughter when we spotted this tiny bug crawling along a leaf. My granddaughter spotted a perfect green heart on it's back, something I have never seen before.

Thank you Annie fot the title.

This is the second image and consecutive second Explored!

Nothing better than this. :-)

Now I tried Panoramic shot. Haven't tried earlier. I Like the clouds pattern and clicked several angles - one of most beautiful place of earth. Lakhota Palace, Ranmal Lake, Jamnagar, Gujarat.

Some Info:

The History of Jamnagar states that the city was built in the year 1540, by Jam Rawal, who belonged to one of the most respected Royal dynasties of Gujarat. It is after Jam Rawal, that the city of Jamnagar was renamed to its present name. The previous name for the city was Nawagarh, a name which can be literally translated to mean New City. The Lakhota Palace in Jamnagar in Gujarat in India was built by the Jam dynasty as a royal arsenal, which could come handy in times of war.

Description of the Lakhota Palace, Jamnagar

The entirety of the city of Jamnagar is built based on the banks of the Lake Ranmal, which is one of the most picturesque lakes of Gujarat. Constructed by the rulers of Nawangar, this palace is regarded to be one of the most popular Tourist Attractions in Jamnagar. The Lakhota Fort is built around this region, which is also famous as one of the most popular Museums in Jamnagar. It houses artifacts which date back to as early as the 8th century A.D. and one can find artifacts which elaborate on the lives of the people around the region up till the 18th century.

Located close to the Lakhota Fort is the Koath Bastion, which is famous for being the arsenal, built by the Royal family of Jamnagar. One of the most interesting areas of the complex is an old well, from which water can be drawn by blowing in to a small hole on the floor.
