A railfan scrambles to get into position to photograph a Nickel Plate Express excursion train leaving Noblesville, Indiana, on a 30-minutes holiday trip. The walkway is part of a trail that crosses the White River adjacent to the tracks.
The thunder on these was pretty enjoyable. After I moved down to the car I experienced one of those flash-booms, where the bolt is so close to you that the sound reaches your ear while the strike is still happening. I estimate it was about 150 feet away.

With lockdown lasting seemingly for ever and to add to that my recent injury where I fractured my ribs i'm surprised I haven't turned into a cough potato. But despite everything I keep reasonably active even if it's just going for a decent walk each day about half-an-hour. But I need to lose a couple of Kilos as some of my nicest clothes don't fit any more. So my big challenge this summer is to get fit lose some weight and have plenty of yummy sex lol. I well when I feel safe to tug pull and stretch I can start on all that housework and gardening I've been afraid to do.
Headed out to Newport Beach Pool this morning with the @focusaustralia Group.

Another image to take my mind off the snow and cold currently out my window.
A view into the Black Pool in the West Thumb Geyser Basin of Yellowstone National Park. The pool had been a dark color due to the microorganisms living in the pool, but in the 1990's the temperature rose and the microorganisms were unable to survive. The current temperature of the pool is 163F (72.9C) according to the park service. The pool retains it's name of the Black Pool while the color now is a aqua green to a deep blue. The water level follows the meandering white line of mineral deposits. The steam at the top of the image is coming from the central area of the pool. The water is extremely clear and also hot!

I was wondering whether I should try a 645 format for weddings? Part of me thinks that if I master 35mm it will be enough for most cases, then again....!
Usually sambar deer are pretty relaxed around vehicles but this female did not seem to happy with our presence! Her tail up was the first sign that she was telling us to get lost! After I took this photo I realized we should leave her alone to respect her request! When photographing wildlife it is always important to read their behavior signs!!! This photo was taken in Ranthambore National Park!

An American Redstart starts it's morning on the hunt for some nice juicy green grubs. They are active warblers that startle insects out of hiding. this one was so busy in his search for grubs he did not mind getting it's photo taken.
Hemia is going to go to Australia for graduate school around 2 years.
I am so happy that she is going to start a new life. (I am missing her so much now.)
