Re-make of the classic 1970s flick starring Hobgrumble in the role of Michael Caine and filmed on Preston Bus Station, a piece of brutalist 1960s/70s architecture similar to that of the car park in the original film. Like the car park it is also going to be knocked down soon. Preston has very little of interest to offer and this place is one of the few things of any character or value left in this town. The people who run Preston are idiots !

Montrealers have been spellbound by the mechanical displays in Ogilvy’s department store window every Christmastime since 1947. The Bavarian scenes, custom made by the German toy manufacturer Steiff, feature dozens of handcrafted animals working and playing. Similar to those of department stores in other parts of the world, like Macy’s in New York or the Galeries Lafayette in Paris, these window displays are among the last of their kind in North America.

To celebrate the success of TEDxHUP, a post event get together of volunteers was held on 20-March-2012. This was the first TEDx event organized by the students of HU, and was attended by more than 350 people which included dignitaries, media personal and TED enthusiasts from all walks of life.
The Conference brought together the Movers & Shakers of Pakistan as Keynote Speakers; from the former Governor of Punjab, Lt. Gen (r) Khalid Maqbool Sb, Academia: Chairman HEC, Dr. Javaid R. Laghari Sb, Senior Journalists: Oriya Maqbool Jan Sb, Javed Chaudhry sb, and the remarkable Mohammad Malick Sb, Senior Foreign Diplomat, US Consul General: Ms. Nina Maria Fite, Google, Country Consultant, Badar Khushnood Sb, CEO Depilex, Ms. Massarat Misbah, Media & Cultural Icons: Mian Yousuf Salahuddin Sb, Adeel Hashmi Sb, Ms. Huma Amir Shah delivered their talks, and shared Dreams for Pakistan.
The Theme of the Conference was — I Dream of a Pakistan.. The objective was to create a platform where passionate people can come together and spark deep discussions on how to bring a peaceful & positive change to Pakistan.
The volunteers which were the students of Hajvery University (HU) played a very effective & pivotal role in making this event a mega success. To appreciate their good work and commitment, Certificates of Recognition were distributed amongst them. In the concluding remarks the Curator of TEDxHUP, wished the students best of luck and encouraged them to engage more in such healthy activities.
