The woods were alive with color for a November afternoon walk at Meeman-Shelby Forest State Park, just north of Memphis.
Finally!! got myself down here. Noelle and I took a trip down Friday night then hiked this amazing glen Saturday morning. 22 waterfalls over a 5 mile loop makes for a pretty amazing experience!
Aiko is enjoying some cool shade
Taking nice hikes when the heat isn't too much for him
Playing around with his toys in the garden
Dipping his fur in the ponds and lakes
How idyllic it is
The sun is shining
Shining in every corner of my heart
How is it even possible to be so happy that you want to go out of your own skin
The small joys
They are certainly being proved to be the big ones
The ones that matter
A great spot to greet the morning, especially if the clouds put on a show. The river is noticeably brown from the heavy rains earlier in the week
In vibrant contrast. The deep scarlet of this tiny emerging leaf, still holding onto glistening water droplets, cuts sharply against the bright white canvas. This macro view captures a moment of delicate strength, emphasising the simple, pure beauty found in nature's quiet details. The shallow depth of field guides the eye straight to that perfect curve and shine.

These two hobbies are great, hiking and photography.
First a lovely and long hike, taking pictures of loads of nice things that Mother Nature has to offer, and stopping and just enjoying the scenery.
And Aiko is enjoying his sticks and treats and is happy π
And then relive my hike looking at all my photos, deleting and choosing which one I might show you π
It's indeed the small things that matter π
Back-country skiers taking a short break on the way towards Panorama Point in Mt Rainier NP.
I'm a little bummed that I wasn't able to catch the group ascending together. It was difficult with them moving and the clouds quickly blowing over and changing the light, so this was the best out of my sequence.
He ran 9 kilometers and didn't want to go into his trailer.
Drinking water and dipping his fur in streams and lakes is of course added to the trip - along with small treats and playing with sticks.
In April of 2014, while visiting the island of Kauai, HI, my wife, son and I kayaked and hiked to this splendid waterfall and spent a good portion of the day frolicking in its waters. It was a fun day!
