Last night I looked at old videos of a sixties tv-series staged in the Middle Ages. They include very slow takes. So wonderful for drawing quickly. Filled at least 15 pages.

I was watching a DVD of an old Dr Who episode and I paused it to sketch the Fourth Doctor, played by Tom Baker.

Playing around with my new boogieboard. Interesting device! it gives a very close feeling as drawing on paper.

My first workshop of the Urban Sketchers Symposium was Movement. Eduardo and Monica supplied a very helpful handout, which I will put to good use into the future. I will have to do a lot more of this kind of observational sketching to feel adept, with satisfactory result. Yes, I was put outside of my "comfort zone", my usual way of approaching drawing. And this was welcome.
Glimmers of hope by the 6th attempt: the
figures 2nd & 3rd from the right are starting to exhibit some dynamism.
