Ah yes Norcrest. This was one of the most simple-minded repetitive patterns I had ever seen anybody come up with!

I would like to see the little glued-on bricks painted a brilliant color such as pink.

Strips of copper imprinted with a fun geometric pattern were formed into hoops that drop down from handmade argentium sterling silver earwires. The earwires simply snap into the holes in the backs of the hoops with light pressure. These are lightweight and just something a little different from your everyday hoops!

This was my most complicated panel yet and caused a lot of confusion in the working out stages. It is based on a 12 point star. This type of pattern would suggest symbolism to do with the universe being in flux around a fixed point it mirrors the North Star which is fixed as the night sky revolves around it. If you wanted to get a bit Dan Brown about it you might say that 12 points hinging round a 13th fixed point is a recurring image through history from Christ and his 12 followers at the last supper to King Arthur and his round table.

Child's tunic, Bosnia, early 20th century. Cotton sleeveless with side seams, hem and neck decorated with embroidery. Tasselled braid belt and a button and loop neck fastening. 53 cm long.

Flower motif, late 16th century. A formal motif representing a sprig of honeysuckle worked in black silk on linen in geometric patterns in Holbein stitch, outlined in chain stitch in silver-gilt thread. 13x11cm.

Details of the zellij, or tilework, on the Dar el-Makhzen, the royal palace complex, in the heart of el-Jedid, of Fes, Moroccco. Main entrance on Place des Alaouites, is ceremonial. Bronze, or brass, doors show the best workmanship in the country.

I liked the various geometric patters in the roof across the way along with the faint contrails.

WEe got 12.7 inches at the airport which is good enough for me. The airport is about 2 miles away.

Mother Nature supplies most peoples with a lot of stones and rocks, but these precious gifts are used variously. In New England in USA they are used to make fences, as they are in parts of England. Many old streets were made of cobblestones. But in Andalusia I noticed that the stones were set in an artistic fashion to create stunning plazas. This image is from Córdoba.

I bet it hasn't always been light gray. I wish I could find a timeline of its history of colors, online.
