Between 29th Nov - 1st Dec Birmingham Central Foodbank took part in the biggest food collection across the Uk with Trussell Trust, Fareshare and Tesco.
Our fab volunteer team collected food donations at Tesco Springhill and Tesco Fiveways in Ladywood Birmingham. We collected 161 crates of food and was blown away by the generousity of the shoppers.
my generous hosts drove me up and back to Tam Dao in a Russian jeep. A much more interesting ride than a normal car, and a lot less dusty than going on a bike. Good fun.

Season of Generosity Event on Saturday, November 3, 2018.
This year during the First Baptist Church of Elkhart's
Season of Generosity, they decided instead of funding
a worthy cause, they would give of themselves; they wanted
to do something to help the community. They chose to give service to the Town of Bristol
by cleaning gravestones and raking leaves at Bristol's Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Bristol Town Manager Michael Mitchell wrote: "Fantastic morning with dozens
of volunteers. Thank you so much for your time and energy to make Bristol
a great community. It was an honor to work with such caring people."

This is a "new" development somewhere close to Dulles, it gives the impression of a busy urban area but it is a cluster of buildings in the middle of an empty expanse.
On April 19th, 2018, the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas honored 25 amazing area volunteers at its 133rd Annual Meeting held at the Belo Mansion. Volunteers were praised for their continued commitment and generosity to the North Texas community. I love todays photo not because of its artistic content but for what it represents, the true spirit of christmas - generosity.
I arranged for the company to participate in the Salvation Army’s Christmas present appeal, basically employees buy an extra present, the Salvation Army then distribute to children and families who may not get any other gifts. Today was collection day and this car was overflowing with gifts from just one of our offices, in fact we have so many the Salvation Army have to come back later this week to collect some more.
I am so pleased i took the time to organise this, i am so pleased at the generosity of my colleagues, but the most pleasing thing of all, was the gift i got in return. The most wonderful feeling that came from the thanks and gratitude of the Salvation Army volunteer.

Title: Ripples
If I can make a ripple,
with a stone thrown in the lake,
what ripples in my real life
do my thoughts and actions make?
My rocket climbs then dives down.
If I push you, will you fall?
To see the glass half empty,
does it change the thing at all?
Will one good turn bring others?
Is it just like people say?
Will all I think and do soon
circle 'round back into play?
Does generous or greedy
make a difference here and now?
Can butterfly wings beating
make a storm somewhere somehow?
I question and I wonder
are there answers, and in fact,
does cause-effect apply to
how I really want to act?
I can't unsplash a ripple
and I can't unspeak a word.
So I will act my best in case
the Universe has heard.
