Cardinal Seán said, “The priesthood is a gift from Christ. We are grateful for the generosity these men have given to the Lord’s call to service. They will join their brother priests, dedicated religious women and men and the faithful ministering in our parishes, working to build strong faith communities. We pray that these newly ordained priests inspire the current generation of young men to consider the possibility of a vocation and, as they are called, to join those in formation at our seminaries.”

Father John Augustine Cassani
One of the three sons of Richard and Mary Ellen (Pumphrey) Cassani, Father Cassani was born on June 7, 1980. A son of St. Jerome Parish in North Weymouth, he is an alumnus of Xaverian Brothers High School in Westwood and graduated from Holy Cross in Worcester in 2002. Father Cassani completed his seminary studies at St. John’s in Brighton and spent his deacon year working at Sacred Heart Parish in East Boston. Before seminary, he was a financial analyst for South Shore Savings Bank in Weymouth. Father Cassani will celebrate his first Mass at his home parish of St. Jerome’s in Weymouth on May 26 at 11:30 a.m. He will also be the homilist.
Father Thomas Keith Macdonald
An alumnus of Rome’s Pontifical North American College and a native of Westford, Father Macdonald is one of the three children (one sister, one brother) of Thomas and Kathleen (Verfaillie) Macdonald. He was born on July 9, 1984. This avid hiker is a fan of reading Catholic writers G.K. Chesterton and Joseph Pieper. Father Macdonald, a son of St. Catherine of Alexandria Parish, Westford, graduated from local schools before attending UMass Amherst. Father Macdonald spent his deacon year at St. Paul Parish in Cambridge. Father Macdonald will celebrate his first Mass at St. Mary Star of the Sea Parish in Beverly on May 26 at 10:30 a.m. The homilist will be Bishop Arthur Kennedy.
Father Jacques Antoine McGuffie
A native of Port-au-Prince, Haiti, where he was born on June 18, 1946 to the late Dickens and Leonie (Jean-Philippe) McGuffie, Father McGuffie is one of 7 children — five sisters and one brother. He attended high school at Lycée Alexandre Pétion in Port-au-Prince. He received his BA from Northeastern University in Boston and his MBA from Boston University. Before entering and completing his seminary studies at Blessed John XXIII Seminary in Weston, he worked for the Massachussetts Department of Social Services. Father McGuffie spent his deacon year at St. Catherine of Alexandria in Westford. He will celebrate his first Mass on May 26 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick Church in Roxbury; Father Walter J. Waldron will be the homilist.
Father Gerald Alfred Souza
This son of St. Kateri Tekakwitha Parish in Plymouth was born Nov. 3, 1985 to Paul and Donna (Urquhart) Souza. He has one brother. Father Souza attended Sacred Heart School in Kingston for elementary and high school. Father Souza attended St. Charles Borromeo Seminary in Philadelphia for the first three years of college, before graduation from Franciscan University in Steubenville, Ohio in 2008. He completed his seminary formation at St. John’s in Brighton. His deacon assignment was spent at St. Mary Parish in Lynn.
Father Souza’s first Mass will be at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Parish on May 26 at 2:00 p.m. He will be the homilist as well.
Father Christopher William Wallace
One of two sons of William and Kathleen (Moran) Wallace, Father Wallace was born Jan. 19, 1983. This native of Our Lady of Good Counsel in Methuen, attended local schools before matriculating at Merrimack College in North Andover. Father Wallace completed his seminary studies at St. John’s and spent his deacon year at St. Joseph Parish in Needham. He is an avid Boston sports fan and also supports the Archdiocesan Serra Club for encouraging vocations. Father Wallace will celebrate his first Mass at St. Theresa Church in Methuen on May 26 at 10:30 a.m.

On the generous top-deck shuttle from the bus station to the Wardle depot, we caught up with this pair waiting to make progress from the ever busy Limekiln crossroads. This was a Saturday morning, with little sign of the vans and other commercial vehicles so plentiful on weekdays. Quite how the junction will cope with the Tesco store proposed for the far right quarter of the picture is a question only time can answer.

The icing was not part of the cake, its just a sugar plaque I put on for the picture and now wish I didnt cause its lame! LOL
Flourless Chocolate Cake:
Ingredients
8 eggs, cold
1 pound unsweetened chocolate, coarsely chopped
1 cup granular Splenda1
2 sticks (16 tablespoons) unsalted butter
¼ cup strong coffee or espresso
General Instructions per serving
Line the bottom of an 8-inch springform pan with parchment and generously grease the sides. Wrap the bottom and up the sides of the pan with heavy duty aluminum foil to make it waterproof. Set the springform pan in a roasting pan you will subsequently fill with boiling water.
Place the eggs into a mixing bowl and beat with an electric mixer on high speed for about 5 minutes, until their volume doubles. Beat in the sweetener.
In a large heatproof mixing bowl, set over a pan of barely simmering water, place the chocolate, butter, and coffee and stir frequently until the mixture becomes smooth.
Fold about one-third of the egg foam into the chocolate mixture. When just a few streak of egg remain visible, fold in half of the remaining egg foam in the same manner. Finally fold the remaining portion of egg foam until all is completely incorporated.
Scrape the batter into the prepared springform pan, smooth the surface with the spatula.
Set the roasting pan into the oven and carefully pour boiling water to come half way up the sides.
Bake in a 325 degree preheated oven about 22 to 25 minutes, until an instant read thermometer inserted into the center reads 140 degrees or until the sides pull away slightly and a thin shiny brownie-like crust has formed on the surface.
When cooked, remove the springform from the water bath, cool on wire rack to room temperature. Cover and refrigerate overnight or up to several (3 to 4) days.
When ready to serve, remove the springform sides, invert cake onto waxed paper, remove parchment liner from bottom, invert cake again onto a serving plate.
Garnish each slice with a dollop of sweetened whipped cream, plate each slice on a pool of Raspberry Coulis, or drizzle the plate with a tablespoon of Sweet Cabernet Reduction, the latter two of which will add some carbs, so be sure to count them.
1You may substitute 24 packets of Splenda or Stevia plus 1 tablespoon ThickenThin Not Sugar or 1 cup granular xylitol or erythritol for the sweetener in this recipe.

I made brandied cherries to put on top which were wicked good! 4 cups frozen dark sweet cherries, 1 cup of good brady, heat on med-high stiring and reduce. You can add a little splenda if you like, but I found it sweet enough. You can also add a little cornstarch to thicken it up a little more. This topping is not SUPER low carb, but its really freaking good. And the cake is really low carb. Sorry no carb count for cherry topping.

Over the past year, with the generous support of Innovation Norway, UN Women has been assessing the potential of leveraging blockchain technologies to address challenges faced by women and girls in humanitarian settings.
As part of this work, UN Women, in partnership with the UN Office of Information and Communications Technology (UN OICT) hosts a four-day Simulation Lab from January 29 to February 1, 2018 at the UN Women New York Headquarters.
This Lab enables UN Women to explore, in collaboration with the private sector, cutting-edge solutions that hold potential for closing gender gaps in humanitarian action.
Based on the results of the Lab, four to five solution providers will be invited to submit a request for proposal (RFP). UN Women intends to pilot two to four solutions in the eld in collaboration with its UN and private sector partners and with the support of Innovation Norway, with the intention to thereafter upscale the most successful solutions as part of UN Women’s Global Flagship Programmes for Disaster Risk Reduction (Gender Inequality of Risk) and Crisis Response and Recovery (LEAP-Women’s Leadership, Empowerment, Access and Protection).

The kit and its assembly:
A major kitbashing project which I had on my idea list for a long time and its main ingredients/body donors already stashed away – but, as with many rather intimidating builds, it takes some external motivation to finally tackle the idea and bring it into hardware form. This came in August 2020 with the “Prototypes” group build at whatifmodellers.com, even though is still took some time to find the courage and mojo to start.
The original inspiration was the idea of a stealthy successor for the A-10, or a kind of more modern A-7 as an alternative to the omnipresent (and rather boring, IMHO) F-35. An early “ingredient” became the fuselage of a Zvezda Ka-58 stealth helicopter kit – I liked the edgy shape, the crocodile-like silhouette and the spacious side-by-side cockpit. Adding wings, however, was more challenging, and I remembered a 1:200 B-2A which I had turned into a light Swedish 1:72 attack stealth aircraft. Why not use another B-2 for the wings and the engines, but this time a bigger 1:144 model that would better match the quite bulbous Ka-58 fuselage? This donor became an Italeri kit.
Work started with the fuselage: the Ka-58’s engine and gearbox hump had to go first and a generous, new dorsal section had to be scratched with 1mm styrene sheet and some PSR. The cockpit and its glazing could be retained and were taken OOB. Under the nose, the Ka-58’s gun turret was omitted and a scratched front landing gear well was implanted instead.
The wings consist of the B-2 model; the lower “fuselage half” had its front end cut away, then the upper fuselage half of the Ka-58 was used as benchmark to cut the B-2’s upper wing/body part in two outer wing panels. Once these elements had been glued together, the Ka-58’s lower nose and tail section were tailored to match the B-2 parts. The B-2 engine bays were taken OOB and mounted next, so that the A-14’s basic hull was complete and the first major PSR session could start. Blending the parts into each other turned out to be a tedious process, since some 2-3 mm wide gaps had to be filled.
Once the basic BWP pack had been finished, I added the fins. These were taken from an 1:72 F-117 kit (IIRC from Italeri), which I had bought in a lot many moons ago. The fins were just adapted at their base to match the tail sting slope, and they were mounted in a 45° angle. This looks very F-117ish but was IMHO the most plausible solution.
Now that the overall length of the aircraft was defined, I could work on the final major assembly part: the wing tips. The 1:144 B-2 came with separate wing tip sections, but they proved to be much too long for the Squatina. After some trials I reduced their length by more than half, so that the B-2’s jagged wing trailing edge was kept. The result looks quite natural, even though blending the cut wing tips to the BWB turned out to be a PSR nightmare because their thickness reduces gently towards the tip – since I took out a good part of the inner section, the resulting step had to be sanded away and hidden with more PSR.
Detail work started next, including the cockpit glazing, the bomb bay (the B-2 kit comes with one of its bays open, and I kept this detail and modified the interior) and the landing gear, the latter was taken from the F-117 donor bank and fitted surprisingly well.
Some sensors were added, too, including a flat glass panel on the nose tip and a triangular IRST fairing under the nose, next to the landing gear well.
