Little Gem Bus Company EP60ODY 1948 (EC) (ex YX20OGV) seen on Portland Street at journeys end on service 44 from Altrincham
...taken 30 minutes after the previous 3 posted sunrise images...
Perkins Cove...truly a hidden gem on the southeastern outskirts of Ogunquit, Maine...it is a very small peninsula with a parking lot as you first drive in with a very short loop drive...flanked with varied artisan shops, a candy store, a few clothing stores... There's the ice cream shop, which is great to enjoy sitting along the rocky shore or on a stroll along the famous Marginal Way...and of course several restaurants in which you can enjoy fresh clams or lobster along with a large Bloody Mary...It is quiet now during the winter months with exception of the daily working fishermen...but things will pick up again come Memorial Day weekend... This image was taken from the west side of peninsula overlooking a working drawbridge as lobster boats are moored to the left and the ocean's entrance is off to the right...the land actually sits between 2 coves, Perkins Cove and Oarweed Cove, both of which transition to the Atlantic ocean...this image was the result of bracketing 3 images and in post, i believe i only adjusted the clarity up just a bit...it was an interesting morning with the horizon on fire during sunrise (see my previous 3 images posted)...this image was taken 30 minutes after sunrise where the colors quickly disappeared...and the clouds began to dissipate...leaving the drive home with clear blue skies...

Hidden Gem
A thousand times we pass the place
Where the hidden gem resides
And never condescend to glance
Where true beauty often lies.
So the grass grows all around us
And we walk it every day
And there’s beauty all about us
But it seems no more than hay.
We may search for gems forever
But if we don’t take the time
To observe what’s right before us
We may never make the find.
White Echinacea (Coneflower). Most of the Echinacea in my gardens are of the "purple" variety (although the blossoms are actually more pink than purple). Butterflies and bees seem to be more drawn to the purple flowers, but the yellow finches are not as fussy - they snack on the seed heads of both. I love the white because it 'jumps' in the early morning light and again as the light fades in the evening.

"If instead of a gem, or even a flower, we should cast the gift of a loving thought into the heart of a friend, that would be giving as the angels give." George MacDonald, 1824 – 1905: Scottish author, poet, and minister. He was a pioneer in the field of fantasy literature.

This photo is from a sterling silver flower filled with gem briolettes. The gems are rubies, citriens, saphires, amethysts, peridots, topaz, smoky quartz, and opals. I am definitely going to shoot some better photos of it, but this was the one I chose for Happy Bokeh Wednesday. I'd like to point that there is NO post processing whatsoever used on any of my flower or gem shots in the last month or longer :) Not even cropping or so.
Wishing you a splendid Wednesday my friends and {{{HUGS}}} to all of you :)
