Thank you all for looking at my images and for your faves, I so gratefully appreciate all of you... but at this time it's hard for me to reply individually, so I will be disabling the comments.... I have my hands full raising over 300 Monarchs... from eggs!! This is a full time job, but worth the reward in helping them...

I didn't think we'd be using the car when we stayed in Lyndhurst, but on the Sunday we felt like a change of scene, so we drove a short distance to Furzey Gardens.
This is an informal woodland garden nestled in a tranquil New Forest setting, full of dozens of fairy doors to enchant visitors of all ages. The garden is well known for its riotous spring colour and stunning autumn leaves, as well as its charming thatched tea rooms serving drinks, cakes and light snacks.

Trying to pick up my camera every day. The morning is always best. The sunlight hadn't quite come in so the light was quit gentle.
Furzey Gardens were mainly 50 shades of green when we were there, but a few odd trees and shrubs were flowering.
Royal Botanical Gardens at Kew, London. The Gardens have a longer prehistory, however, as a public institution they date back to 1840. Kew Gardens is also a prominent place of botanical research and, most importantly these days, one of the few locations in the world where an attempt is being made at preserving the seeds of, if possible, all existing plants.

It's always nice to have a record of the way the garden looks and develops over the years. Today we were able to get the garden back into shape after the renderers finished their work and the scaffolders came to take their Meccano kit away!!
You can see the pink bottlebrush flowers here and the red azaleas, which unfortunately are finishing flowering. This is the shady end of the garden but it can be quite pleasant on a really hot day.
