This was taken early in the morning right after the sprinkler stopped on that area, the Japanese Hinoki has dense patches of leaves like pockets and water accumulates on them,

Now tell me how this Juvenile Song Sparrow knows that and takes a bath in it!

Taken from my Kitchen window,

Have a fantastic week everyone!

Echinacea ‘Harvest Moon’ bred by Richard Saul (2003).

Said a hybrid between E. purpurea and E. paradoxa; both are native to North America.

'Harvest Moon' produces beautiful, nuanced orangish yellow flowers like the moon low in the summer night’s sky.

Taken in my little garden under the late afternoon’s soft light, which faithfully reproduced the nuance of the color.

♥ Thank you very much for your visits, faves, and kind comments ♥

Hamilton Gardens located in Hamilton, Waikato Region of the North Island of New Zealand.

Near Collywell bay Seaton Sluice.

There is a lovely story attached to this iconic place in the north east of England, a lovley man obviously named Charlie used to tend to this garden when it was attached to the mainland, a sign of changing times and tides.

Zoar is a village in Tuscarawas County, Ohio, that was founded by German religious separatists in 1817, and survived as a communal settlement for more than 80 years. Many of the original buildings still exist, as does a large public garden that occupies a central area of the village. The gardens, part of which are seen here, are said to be preserved and maintained as they were in the 1800s.

The octagonal gazebo was erected in 1930. Although no longer used for music performances, it is a favorite wedding photo spot. The bandstand is also icon and symbol of the Garden. The garden was first set up by Stamford Raffles, who was the founder of Singapore as well as being a naturalist at Fort Canning. In 2015 the Gardens was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

One of the notable landscape features of the Bandstand today is the ring of Yellow Rain Trees (Samanea saman) surrounding it. The Rain Tree usually has light green foliage, but due to a mutation, some trees produced yellow leaves and some of these plants have been re-produced by cloning.

It was late spring/early summer during our recent visit to Maryland ,USA so my Flickr friends will have to put up with lots of flower shots.:-) This was taken in the garden of the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley in Winchester, Virginia. It was almost midday and the sun was high in the sky so this was the best I could do.:-)

Have a wonderful day dear friends.

Peonies at the UC Botanical Garden. Right on schedule for Mother’s Day!

Peonies are important in Chinese herbal medicine. These are blooming in the university's Chinese Medicinal section.

Oenothera (Evening primrose) ‘African Sun’ produces small, bright yellow flowers during the day, even though it's a species of evening primrose. This lovely plant unexpectedly appeared in my garden last year, and is also blooming this season.

Oenothera ‘African Sun’ is said a cultivar of Oenothera fruticosa (or a hybrid with Oenothera perennes) native to North America.

Late evening, low light, leaden sky's and a distinct lack of harsh shadows. Some like to refer to this as looking at a glass that is half full rather than half empty. Instead, I like to say, you have the wrong size glass. It is like saying that the light is right or wrong. Instead, we can look at it another way. Certain kinds of light situations are better suited for certain genres of photography. Like a wedding is better photographed under a cloudy day to avoid harsh shadows. The same goes for flowers. In this case, the subtle light delivered subtle hues and it all melted into a pleasing experience for the eyes.
