Kauffman Memorial Gardens
Kansas City, MO.
USA
Okay so its late summer but this memorial garden is in full swing. I was an early riser as I caught the landscaper watering the lush landscape. Everything is in full bloom and some parts of the garden are overrun but look full and robust. It won't be long now until October and the changing of the guard hits the midwest. For now though its nature showing her beauty and she looks mighty fine.
Thanks as always.

Sliding in my flower bed. I like the reflections of the alliums in the bird bath and the painterly effect. HSS!
Garden is still covered with 30+ inches of snow.... but it is beginning to melt... a half inch this past week. 🌞
View from Mirror Wall over the Royal Gardens, Sigiriya, Sri Lanka
The UNESCO World Heritage Site of Sigiriya is truly unique not only for its remaining ruins, but also for its stunning location.
The palace ruins on the summit of Sigiriya rock consist of several massive brick walls and pools, which were carved into the solid rock, and the sheer drop-offs on any side of the summit offer panoramic views in all directions.
The entry to the summit leads through massive Lion's claws which are the remains of what was once a much larger structure. In ancient times, the stairway lead straight into the mouth of a lion, and the name Sigiriya, which literally means Lions Rock, stems from this impressive monument.
The Royal gardens below the rock are among the most important and spectacular features of Sigiriya, and are considered to be among the oldest landscaped gardens in the world.
When we returned from our week in Shropshire we were pleased to find that a number of buds on one of our rhododendrons had burst into bloom. The buds are pink but the flowers are white.

"All the king's horses and all the king's men
Never put my heart together again
In these rivers of tears
I'm drowning, drowning...
There are wolves in my head and they're howling
There was a garden of eden
In the palm of my hand..
Now i'm broken and bleeding
Stranger in this land...
Nothing left to believe in
Nothing left to say
In a world without reason
I'll never find my way
Wander this world
Never get back
I wander this world
Never get back

In Transsylvania, churches served as fortresses at the same time and were walled and fortified. Most of them can be visited nowadays on arrangement. The one at Cincsor is one of the better preserved.
Huntsville Botanical Garden, Al. has a huge daylily garden. More varieties than you can shoot in the hot sun.
The National Trust opened the glorious Secret Garden at Quarry Bank. Riverside walks, meandering paths and raised beds are some of the features that have been rediscovered during restoration work.
Built in 1784 Quarry Bank was one of the world's first factories and became a thriving cotton mill at a defining moment in our history
