Had to laugh when I saw all of these umbrellas in the trash... Probably why I don't use umbrellas. Hell, I get wet when I take a shower!
a garbage can. because you know, with all these flower shots, it wouldn't look like my stream if i didn't display my full OCD-ness to the extreme and post a photo of a totally random boring object that only caught my eye because of the lines and colors. ;)

Tulip Festival on Sunday. Got there just at sunrise. It was absolutely beautiful. So many shots to process, but here are just a few.
People seem to enjoy throwing garbage from the top of the escarpment down to the creek below. I found a bicycle, couple of shopping carts, part of a park bench, a television, dozens and dozens of bottle, and other garbage. Some people are pigs!

A random snapshot of a new Waste Management garbage truck that picks up garbage cans with a robotic arm that extends from the right-side of the truck seen on its route in Brookhaven, Mississippi on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at 12:30 PM CST.
Waste Management is the new contractor company that had replaced Arrow Disposal Services, Incorporated (ADSI) on September 30, 2024. These trucks are operated by one-man crews which is only the driver and he only has to line up the robotic arm or ''claw'' as I call it to the cans and push a button.
The previous company had used rear-loader trucks and three-man crews, the driver and two ''hoppers'' riding on the backside of the truck. The major problem with these newer trucks is they would have to make multiple passes on the same streets and do one can at a time which makes them slower and sometimes, they do not always empty the cans all the way. Back when we still had Arrow Disposal Services, the extra two riders who emptied the cans would also pick up any bit of garbage that happens to fall out like cardboard boxes like pizza boxes, these trucks just empty the cans and head off to the next one on its route. Besides than that, these trucks are cool looking.
