The Housing Authority of Los Angeles, which owns and manages these apartments, were apparently unhappy with the garbage collection company, and so cancelled the contract.

Garbage day, August 4, 2011. The sign on the pole indicates the location to drop off your garbage (Mondays & Thursdays). Our house is left of the pole. Our neighbor (house right of the pole) coordinates garbage pickups. He places a net over the garbage to protect it from birds.

Garbage at the Warfield theatre in San Francisco.

Thanks to dark_age_gal for suggesting this subject to be photographed.

This was on the side of a trail hiking back up from the rice terraces. No sign of the rest of the truck sadly.

People seem to enjoy throwing garbage from the top of the escarpment down to the creek below. I found a bicycle, couple of shopping carts, part of a park bench, a television, dozens and dozens of bottle, and other garbage. Some people are pigs!

Ron, the landlord at the Springfield house that Chad, Nathan (later to be replaced by Cass) and I rented, was always renovating something. As such we generally always had a pile of garbage in our backyard.
