Emily Gap is one of several gaps in the mountain range running from west to east in the Alice Springs region. Northern Territory, Australia.
The road we took from Hot Springs to Big Brushy passed a nice little picnic spot along Gap Creek. We stopped, and I spent about 20 minutes wandering along the stream banks looking at rocks (mostly shale, with a vein of quartz passing through a joint at one point).
I found Gap Gap injured in my backyard and took it in to nurse it back to health. With its wings broken, Gap Gap can't fly anymore so it now lives in this cage, next to the parakeets.
