The fruits of a different species of lupin can be eaten and are sometimes added to bread. Normally they have toxic alkaloids, but alkaloid-free varieties have been cultivated and special preparation can reduce the amount. But I think these are just plain ol' toxic.

Very tricky - he would not keep still. I'm sure I could do better if I spent more time. Oh well. And the ISO was high 'cause the light was poor. Might try in the lightbox with flash ...
What was a fuzzy, niggling thought at the back of my mind was suddenly made crystal clear. An act of looking, deep looking, not just cursory seeing, brought that out. I had never noticed it. Now I do. And it all makes sense. All too clearly. Fascination with the image of hidden beauty magnified.
I'm milking this fuzzy dice thing for all it's worth. I didn't realize I had so many in my archives until I started looking.

Needles: US 11 circs and dpn's
Notes: Very quick, easy pattern, and felting is so fun! Might try it double stranded next time to make a thicker slipper.
