This is the full mountain without light painting. I think that even though the top of the mountain is obstructed in the prior post the light painting and shadows in that shot creates some visual interest.

A couple weeks ago at Charlotte Tavern for Tuesday Tunes with eldest offsproing. Lanse is in an Irish music group that has a session here on Tuesday evenings. He and his cohorts play beautiful music and I sip a Guinness. And take pictures of whatever catches my eye.

WeeklyFotoChallenge says "diptych" so diptych it shall be.
Today you get a twofer. After processing this normally as color then converted to black and white in the Gimp. I like both versions, but they are exceedingly different photographs. Note what stands out in each. Ask yourself, "What is this photograph about?"
One thing I noticed with the black and white is that the tonal range is not nearly what I would have gotten with actual black and white film like my usual Ilford HP-5 Plus.
Back in October I loaded a roll of long-expired Kodak Gold 200 in the old-but-not-expired Argus C3 with the 35mm lens and went for a walk through the neighborhood and down to Durand Eastman Park. The colors came out intense, but it was that sort of day.

Erosion at Taughannock Falls, 1963-2014
Note the change in the top line of the falls over 51 years.
I took the first photograph in 1963 with a simple 620 box camera of long-forgotten type. I took the second and third in 2014 with the Argus C3 (on our 42nd wedding anniversary, no less).

After J comes Kaleidoscope.
The Ondu 6x6 and I went out for a walk on an Autumn afternoon.
The dynamic range with this film Harman Phoenix II is better than with version 1 but still not wonderful. Combined with the normal corner fall-off of the Ondu 6x6, it made for dramatic vignetting.
