Summer Morning, Rocky Mountain Front Range, Denver Metro Area, Colorado.
I came across this tiny feather (1.1cm x 0.6cm) attached to a blade of prairie grass. I thought perhaps it was a hummingbird's feather. As I took close-up photos of this feather, a Ruby-Throated Hummingbird arrived and briefly perched at arm's length from me. Then it took off to chase a peer/perceived rival! Together, they quickly rose vertically, dove, and repeatedly rose, only to dive again. . . and again!
A look across an alpine meadow towards the entrance and rock out cropping's in Eldorado Canyon State Park from the Fowler Trail.

Under frigid skies, freezing mist and light snow combine to turn majestic cottonwoods into sugar coated deliciousness on the banks of Boulder County's Ish Reservoir.
A Union Pacific train of gons loaded with riprap is westbound west of Rocky, Colorado, on September 27, 2019. The train is bound for the North Fork branch out of Grand Junction and is powered with three up front and a two-unit DPU on the rear.
I usually shoot the front of the old grain mill (with the mountains in the background) Thought I would take a shot of the backside. Front side coming soon =)

We were fortunate to attend a concert at one of our favorite venues, Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado. It's truly a bucket list destination for concert goers to experience this open-air venue nestled in red sandstone monoliths in the Front Range of the Colorado Rockies. This shot captures one of those monoliths, Ship Rock, illuminated from the venue lights and a moonlit sky.
Townsend's Solitaires come down from the mountains to spend the winter in our beautiful city park. They have the loveliest song and this time of year it is so welcome to hear. At Garden of the Gods Park the singing Solitaires are hardly solitary as they feed on abundant juniper berries and find shelter in the evergreens' thick branches.
The lyrics of "America the Beautiful" play out in a full spectrum of color at the foot of Colorado's Rocky Mountains.
