Helen Hunt Falls is a scenic 35 foot waterfall located west of Colorado Springs in North Cheyenne Cañon Park. The falls can be seen from the parking lot or you can walk up the stone steps to the bridge over Cheyenne Creek for a great view of the canyon. The falls are named in honor of Helen Maria Hunt Jackson (1830 – 1885), a United States poet and writer who became an activist on behalf of improved treatment of Native Americans by the U.S. government.

Scenic Sundance Mountain, with an elevation of 12,260 feet (3737 meters) is part of an ancient mountain range in Rocky Mountain National Park. The summit is close to Trail Ridge Road, so it is easy to see and is popular with hikers. It is one of 77 peaks in the park which are higher than 12,000 feet and has amazing views for hundreds of miles in all directions.

Trail Ridge Road, the main road through the park, is the highest continuous paved road in the United States, known appropriately as the "Highway to the Sky." It was constructed in 1933 and crosses the Continental Divide at 12,183 feet. The road winds past countless mountain peaks, high-alpine tundra and some of Rocky Mountain National Park's best views.

The calendar says spring, but the weather says Christmas at Crescent, Colorado, on April 23, 1999. Amtrak No. 5, the California Zephyr, climbs the Front Range of the Rockies through a snowy wonderland on its westward trip to a hopefully warmer California… Merry Christmas, everyone!

Aspen trees are vibrant yellow in the fall, and the tall clusters of white trees create the distinctive sound of the “quaking” leaves. They are the most widespread tree in North America. From the Midwest, across Canada, north into Alaska and across the West through to Arizona and New Mexico, quaking aspens dot the edge of conifer forests in clusters or “clones.”

I'm still going through shots I took before my whole house remodel project. I used my panel light to light up the flowers in the foreground on this one.

Pikes Peak is the highest summit of the southern front range of the Rocky Mountains, in North America. The 14,115 ft (4,302 m) mountain is also the farthest east of the big peaks which contributed to its fame among early explorers and pioneers. When gold was discovered in the Colorado mountains, it became the symbol of the 1859 Gold Rush with the slogan, "Pikes Peak or Bust".
