On the ceiling of an entrance hall of the Freer Gallery of Smithsnian Institution (pretty good Asian art museum, though not compareable to the ones I visited in France).
Taken from way below with a Sigma 14mm Fisheye lens and a fill flash on a sunny, cool day. That's my 8 year old, blasting a 180 boneless of a portable kicker ramp.
I'm still enjoying my holidays and making the most of the excellent views (!!!) you can capture with your camera whilst you're out and about in the company of someone you love. Just thought I'd drop in and say Hi to you all before I zoom off to Madrid on Tuesday for the AC/DC concert and a few days of sightseeing. Hopefully when I get back I'll be able to spend a bit of time catching up with all of you and letting you see what I've been snapping during my break !!! Until then .... hugs from me to you ;)

An alternate photo can be found in the comments. Can't decide which one i like better......
they're up on the balcony. you can see the railing they lean on in the previous and next photos. Me and racey were on the street down below. It was around 3 a.m. and they wouldn't let us back into the bar cuz it was trying to close :(
The palm trees in the center room can grow to 100 feet tall. This is a problem, because the dome is only 80 feet. In 2002, the Belle Isle Botanical Society funded the removal of a tree that threatened to break through the glass.

I had a real hard time taking this photo. Trying to stand with your phone pointed straight up over your face, at a spinning ceiling fan (going fast because it's frikkin' hot) and centering it so that you're directly underneath...
I almost lost my balance, quite honestly. ;) I wasn't able to center it in-frame, obviously, but I like it a bit offset anyway. :)
Tree by the MSU Museum. I like the contrast this tree has, so I figured I would shoot it in black and white. I think the effect turned out pretty swell.
(Do people still use the word swell like that?)
One of at least five mockingbirds fighting with each other around the palm trees full of berries. This one seems to be looking at me inquisitively. Ajo country Club, Ajo, Arizona, USA, 29 November 2015
A lot of my pictures I make as a layer blend between a "normal picture" and a tonemapped version. In this one I have let the tonemapped version shine throu a bit more than usual.
And of course, it's fairly simple, but oh so tidious to remove the net. Some rainy day maybe;)
Some people in Hungry Horse, MT, go out when it starts to freeze, and spray this area with food coloring. I guess it's a tradition, but this is the first time I saw it. Pretty amazing when you are driving past and there's a huge rainbow dripping off the rocks next to the highway. Definitely worth a stop. :)
Someone must have dumped a money plant out by the canals, because I came across a large patch growing wild.
Took the dog down to the lake yesterday for an evening walk - we've had unseasonably warm weather the last 2 days!
Looking up at one of the many carved figures at the Suzzallo Library on the UW campus on one particularly overcast day.

I have known Holly since I was about 2 or so. Our parents met on the first day that our older sisters went to kindergarten, we lived almost across the street from each other, and we grew up together. We drifted apart when we went to separate post-secondary schools, and her family moved to a different neighbourhood, and eventually, I moved across the country as well. Although we don't talk much, when we got together this past summer, it was like old times. We talked so much and have so much in common - it was awesome seeing her again.
I convinced her to let me photograph her. We had lots of fun!
