I want to share this image of the Eiffel Tower, that I captured 2 years ago, just to say goodbye to my glorious Sigma 12-24 1st series which,after 10 years of honorable service with me and its previous owner, has finally succumbed ... of course, I've already replaced it with another wonderful ultrawide, but I will never forget the emotion that gave me its 12mm...RIP ! :-P

Cette année a été riche en floraison malgré une saison estivale pourrie. Ce trio clôture la saison avec panache.
This year was rich in flowering despite a rotten summer season. This trio closes the season with panache.

The Castle of Prince Henry - the hunting-castle, situated between Staniszów and Marczyce, built on Grodna, the highest peak in Wzgórza Łomnickie (506 m). In 1806 one of the owners of Staniszów - Count Heinrich von Reuss XXXVIII, commissioned the building of a hunting-castle in the natural park surrounding the local palace. According to the design the site was to constitute the artificial ruins of a medieval fortress. The romantic ruins were to become a place for feasting after hunting, a destination to walk to and an observation point overlooking the Karkonosze. The project was completed by the Prince Henry XII in 1841. In 2015-2016, the structure was renovated. The Castle of Henry is now one of the most interesting local attractions. The Neo-Gothic tower and the perimeter walls have survived to this day.

Zamek Księcia Henryka (Zamek w Staniszowie) - zamek myśliwski, leżący między Staniszowem a Marczycami, wybudowany na górze Grodna (506 m. n.p.m.), najwyższym szczycie Wzgórz Łomnickich. W 1806r. jeden z właścicieli Staniszowa, hrabia Heinrich XXXVIII von Reuss, polecił wznieść na terenie parku krajobrazowego otaczającego tutejszy pałac zamek myśliwski. Zgodnie z projektem obiekt miał przybrać formę sztucznej ruiny średniowiecznej warowni. Romantyczne ruiny miały stać się miejscem biesiad po polowaniach, celem spacerów i punktem widokowym na Karkonosze. Projekt został ukończony ostatecznie przez księcia Henryka XII w 1841 r. W latach 2015-2016 obiekt został poddany remontowi. W tym czasie powstała m.in. prowadząca na wieżę klatka schodowa. Odbudowa schodów umożliwiła udostępnienie od 30 kwietnia 2016 wieży zamkowej dla turystów. Zamek Henryka to obecnie jedna z najciekawszych okolicznych atrakcji. Zachowała się neogotycka wieża oraz ściany obwodowe.

I've been to Hannover by train many times but on this shoot it was the first time I noticed they have glass gangways between the platforms, which are situated above the main station concourse below.
I've always wanted to get a shot like this after seeing a few here on Flickr but I never knew of any locations where I could achieve such a composition.....now I know ;0)
Hopefully next time I'll catch a 'full stride' as someone crosses from one side to the other.

Escalier à double hélice qui permettait aux personnes qui montaient de ne pas croiser celles qui descendaient. A l'origine, un rideau les empêchait également d'être vues. L'immeuble, construit en 1781, abritait bien sûr des activités peu recommandables : prostitution, jeu ... Il dispose toujours de deux entrées.

Japanese cherry (Prunus serrulata) is a species of cherry tree that grows wild in China and other Asian countries. It reaches a height of up to 10 m and a crown width of up to 8 m. It blooms from April to May, extremely abundantly. It is one of the most beautiful trees that bloom in spring. It has been cultivated in Japan for a long time, where during its blooming period is the main attraction of the hanami tradition. It is cultivated in many countries of the world as an ornamental plant.

Młode drzewko wiśni japońskiej na moim osiedlu :)
Wiśnia piłkowana, wiśnia japońska (Prunus serrulata) – gatunek drzewa z rodziny różowatych. Pochodzi z Azji. Osiąga wysokość do 10 m i szerokość korony do 8 m. Kwitnie od kwietnia do maja, niezwykle obficie. Kwiaty pojawiają się jeszcze przed rozwojem liści. Jest jednym z najładniej kwitnących wiosną drzew. Od dawna uprawiana była w Japonii, gdzie podczas kwitnienia jest główną atrakcją obchodów tradycji hanami. Jest uprawiana w wielu krajach świata jako roślina ozdobna.
Finally - some butterflies in the yard! Not exactly a sharp shot - between up'ing the ISO due to low light and constantly cleaning the lens due to humidity - but I was so exited to get some butterfly activity. Once this wet tropical pattern moves on - I think Summer butterflies will take off. North Georgia
Cree Bridge is a handsome granite structure that links Newton Stewart with Minnigaff.
The bridge was built in 1813 after flooding in 1806 swept away the old bridge built in 1745. The old bridge had been positioned further up the river and its crossing point was at the bottom of the Salt Box Brae. But the bridge committee put in place to facilitate the building of the new bridge decided the best position was further south at a place where people and lifestock had previously forded the river. In 1329 on a pilgrimage to shrine of St Ninian in Whithorn Robert the Bruce crossed the river at this point.
The engineer given the responsibility of designing the new Cree Bridge was the famous John Rennie the Elder. He is also the builder of the bridge over the River Ken at New Galloway and Waterloo Bridge over the Thames in London. Rennie also planned the government dockyards at Portsmouth and Plymouth.
It's hard to believe that this is the same staircase, just from below, as in the previous photo.
