Homebrew 175MHz prescaler for frequency counter. This was based on Heathkit IB-102 design, with some modifications. The circuit boards were my only use of a photographic technigue to develop the resist patterns. The boards came out nice but it was too time consuming for a one-off application.

Testing out a chrome Carl Zeiss Distagon 50mm f4.0 lens I recently acquired for the Hasselblad. I thought a wider perspective would work well with this series.
This is from the first test roll, results aren't bad. The negatives may be a bit flatter compared to my 80mm Carl Zeiss. Need to do some comparison shots.

Homebrew 50 MHz Frequency Counter built in 1972. At the time, a 50Mhz counter was pretty advanced (at least to me). My own design, but functionally, it was similar to an HP 10MHz counter that used nixie displays. I think there are about 50 DIP chips, mostly 7400 TTL, on 8 PC boards. The largest board is about 4" x 12" with 21 DIPs (3 per decade), hidden in the base of the chassis. Today, this could be built with a few inexpensive chips, with much better performance. But, it still works, and I built it, so I use it... ;-)
Located in a region that could have inspired artist Norman Rockwell, the neighborhood around the 2nd Weather Squadron, Det. 2, Sagamore Hill, Mass., solar observatory is nestled at the end of a secluded unmarked road in a wooded area of eastern Mass. on Nov. 18, 2009. The Sagamore Hill Solar Radio Observatory is a ground-based solar observatory located in Hamilton, Massachusetts that operates 24/7 to obtain scientific observations of the sun. It is part of the Radio Solar Telescope Network (RSTN). The observatory is currently operated by Detachment 2 of the 2nd Weather Squadron of the Air Force Weather Agency. Instruments currently located at the Sagamore Hill RSTN Site include the RIMS (Radio Interference Monitoring Sets), SFIR (Sweep Frequency Interferometric Radiometer) and SRS (Solar Radio Spectrometers).
