Frequencies

So low

Feel you in my bones

I'm so far from home

Frequencies

My ears are gonna bleed

I'm tired of your screams

I just wanna breathe

Oh, just get out of mind

No, stop telling me lies

I don't know how much I can fight

I don't know how long I'll survive

Cuckoo - Cuculus Canorus

The common cuckoo (Cuculus canorus) is a member of the cuckoo order of birds, Cuculiformes, which includes the roadrunners, the anis and the coucals.

This species is a widespread summer migrant to Europe and Asia, and winters in Africa. It is a brood parasite, which means it lays eggs in the nests of other bird species, particularly of dunnocks, meadow pipits, and reed warblers. Although its eggs are larger than those of its hosts, the eggs in each type of host nest resemble the host's eggs. The adult too is a mimic, e that species is a predator, the mimicry gives the female time to lay her eggs without being seen to do so.

The English word "cuckoo" comes from the Old French cucu and it first appears about 1240 in the poem Sumer Is Icumen In - "Summer has come in / Loudly sing, Cuckoo!" in modern English.

The scientific name is from Latin. Cuculus is "cuckoo" and canorus, "melodious ".

A study using stuffed bird models found that small birds are less likely to approach common cuckoos that have barred underparts similar to the Eurasian sparrowhawk, a predatory bird. Eurasian reed warblers were found more aggressive to cuckoos that looked less hawk-like, meaning that the resemblance to the hawk helps the cuckoo to access the nests of potential hosts. Other small birds, great tits and blue tits, showed alarm and avoided attending feeders on seeing either (mounted) sparrowhawks or cuckoos; this implies that the cuckoo's hawklike appearance functions as protective mimicry, whether to reduce attacks by hawks or to make brood parasitism easier.

The common cuckoo is an obligate brood parasite; it lays its eggs in the nests of other birds. At the appropriate moment, the hen cuckoo flies down to the host's nest, pushes one egg out of the nest, lays an egg and flies off. The whole process takes about 10 seconds. A female may visit up to 50 nests during a breeding season. Common cuckoos first breed at the age of two years.

More than 100 host species have been recorded: meadow pipit, dunnock and Eurasian reed warbler are the most common hosts in northern Europe; garden warbler, meadow pipit, pied wagtail and European robin in central Europe; brambling and common redstart in Finland; and great reed warbler in Hungary.

Studies were made of 90 great reed warbler nests in central Hungary. There was an "unusually high" frequency of common cuckoo parasitism, with 64% of the nests parasitised. Of the nests targeted by cuckoos, 64% contained one cuckoo egg, 23% had two, 10% had three and 3% had four common cuckoo eggs. In total, 58% of the common cuckoo eggs were laid in nests that were multiply parasitised. When laying eggs in nests already parasitised, the female cuckoos removed one egg at random, showing no discrimination between the great reed warbler eggs and those of other cuckoos.

It was found that nests close to cuckoo perches were most vulnerable: multiple parasitised nests were closest to the vantage points, and unparasitised nests were farthest away. Nearly all the nests "in close vicinity" to the vantage points were parasitised. More visible nests were more likely to be selected by the common cuckoos. Female cuckoos use their vantage points to watch for potential hosts and find it easier to locate the more visible nests while they are egg-laying.

Trees give off frequencies and are so fascinating. The rural areas of Yucaipa were full of many different trees each unique and beautiful.

Frequency is the number of occurrences of a repeating event per unit of time. It is also referred to as temporal frequency, which emphasizes the contrast to spatial frequency and angular frequency.

“When one tunes in into nature’s frequency, life becomes change, change becomes hope!”

Listen along with me here

I know it's been a long time and I

Thinking about angels and I

Wonder if anyone's listening to me

Thought I heard your voice inside me

Regulating frequency

I don't receive

The message as you leave

On and on, I stop and wonder

Wonder if you think of me, oh

I don't care about your honor

In this constant state of tragedy, no

Searching for a sign from somewhere

Of who the hell I'm supposed to be

I don't care

If you think about me

Forward motion pulls me down

My shallow breath is losing ground

I fall apart over the simplest things

Been afraid, I'm tired of battle

A little slow in climbing but my only crime

Is taking what I need

Just holding on for something to believe

I'm holding on

For something to believe

On and on, I stop and wonder

Wonder if you think of me, oh

I don't care about your honor

In this constant state of tragedy, no

Searching for a sign from somewhere

Of who the hell I'm supposed to be, oh

I don't care

Oh I don't care

Oh I don't care

If you think about me

Former radio station Radio Kootwijk is a monumental building with a special history, in which connection is central. The building is architecturally unique, in its special Art Deco style.

Architect Julius Luthmann was commissioned in 1920 to build a hall for the large dynamo of long-wave radio transmission equipment. The desolate sand drift near Apeldoorn lent itself well to an interference-free transmitter. Luthmann was not allowed to use wood and iron, so it was made entirely of concrete. In the rich Netherlands of those days, no more or less was looked at. The design has been worked out to perfection and finished in Art Deco down to the last detail.

History:

At the start of the twentieth century, the Netherlands was a trading nation with extensive overseas territories. Its interests were served by a quick connection to the colonies, especially the Dutch East Indies. Direct communication took place by way of electric telegrams, which required cable connections. Prior to this, the Netherlands was dependent on England and Germany. When the First World War broke out the disadvantages of this dependence increased. In 1918, the government decided to realise their own international communication network, independent of the neighbouring countries. After much political debate it was decided to build a long wave transmission station enabling permanent contact with the Dutch East Indies using radio telegraphs.

To establish the radio transmitting station they looked for an uninhabited, remote terrain so there would be minimum interference to the transmission traffic from the environment. The 450 hectare terrain was bought by the Dutch Ministry of Transport, Public Works and Water Management from the Dutch National Forestry Commission.

About 150 labourers from Amsterdam levelled the terrain. The antenna terrain was constructed as a circular plain with a diameter of approximately 1200 metres, a ring of five 212 metre high masts around a central mast at the foot of the transmitter building. The radio transmission centre was officially put into operation in May 1923, initially for Morse telegraph traffic. The developments in radio technology advanced rapidly. After a few years it became apparent that the long wave connections were outdated and too expensive. They switched to a short wave frequency for a higher signalling rate, better connections, lower energy consumption and smaller equipment.

The station initially operated under the name Radio Assel, but also became known under the name Radio Hoog Buurlo. 'Kootwijk Radio' was the international call sign for radio traffic. Queen Emma brought about the first telephone connection in 1929 with the Dutch East Indies with the legendary words: “Hello Bandoeng Hello Bandoeng! Can you hear me?". The first conversations, which invariably concluded with the Dutch national anthem Wilhelmus, were free as it was still in an experimental phase. Subsequently, people had to pay considerable amounts for a phone call to family members overseas. The PTT (state enterprise for Post, Telegraphs and Telephony of the Netherlands) tried to interest the public in overseas phone calls through advertising. Cheap family phone calls, only on Saturdays with 30% discount off the normal rates cost f 21 in those days for a three minute call to Java, for example. In those days the average weekly salary was f 25.

------------------------

A big thank you to all for your visits, your comments, and your favorites too, which are always very much appreciated.

The territorial sound manifestation with singing value is drumming.

Both sexes drum in spring, but the male drums more frequently and consistently.

The drumming of the great spotted woodpecker is typical in that it is brief (1–2 seconds) and the frequency of the beats of each salvo increases slightly. It is a very frequent manifestation in the spring at the time of pairing and demarcation of the territory.

It has been calculated that an unpaired male can drum up to 600 times a day.

There is a frequency some women carry that cannot be named, cannot be taught, and rarely finds recognition in a world that fears what it cannot control.

This vibration is not about being better or more evolved. It is about being undeniably real in a landscape built on illusion.

She separates her essence from the roles assigned to her, the identities projected onto her, the expectations that suffocate her true nature.

She stops explaining herself to those who are determined to misunderstand. She stops justifying her boundaries to people who view her self-preservation as selfishness.

This is not cruelty. She withdraws because she has learned to distinguish between relationships that nourish her essence and those that exist only to drain it.

She walks a path that few understand, that fewer celebrate, that appears from the outside like isolation but from the inside feels like the only honest way to live.

Helios 44M-7 at F8, contre-jour, reflector. Black, Green, Red and Ultramarine. Though the ability of distinguishing (some) frequencies of light has a physical basis, the 'translation' of any such frequencies into colours is an achievement of the brain. Colours are 'made' in the brain. We can either see them directly, or, if the image is in B+W, we can imagine them by reading the labels: Mars Black, Deep Green, Cadmium Red, Ultramarine. It may also help to know that the screw-on lids are Bright Yellow. My guess would be, however, that different people would colourise this image in different ways. This is because the individual colour perception varies. Mine is questionable and I sometimes overdo it. That is why I am feeling more comfortable with Monochrome.

if my red eyes don't see you anymore

and i can't hear you through the white noise

just send your heartbeat i'll go to the blue ocean floor
