Vinyls and thread and the technique of Free Motion Stitching have been used in this piece. Various extra pieces come in the pockets provided, so that viewers can rework the scene, thus creating their own story using my vision. It is presently touring Fiberart International 2010 in various venues across the U.S 87” X 52
For the inside of the journal I printed out lined pages in different colors, added a few quotes on the pages, and stitched them into three signatures.

Moving through the steps of designing with new techniques, I'm allowing some synchronicity to come to play. The piece of sun dyed cloth that surrounds the fused flowers was itself a layered fused piece waiting to be made into business card cases. How could I refuse using it to frame this garden? Next, tying it together and filling out the design with more free motion stitched flowers and leaves.
I started with an old pair of light khaki pants, added acrylic paint and ink and free-motion stitching.
