Collage background from vintage, swap and recycled items. This piece celebrates my love of my materials and the process. Free motion machine stitching.
Made with fabric that I tried many techniques on and then added all sorts of embellishments and stitching.
In honor of a book I read this spring entitled Happy For No Reason by Marci Shimoff.
I AM happy for no reason. :)
If I can stop one Heart from breaking
I shall not live in vain
If I can ease one life the Aching
Or cool one Pain
Or help one fainting Robin Unto his Nest again
I shall not live in Vain.”
~ Emily Dickinson ~
Free motion stitching from sketch, inspired by photo...maybe a pillow? Oh yes, Seth's birthday!
He love's it...Happy Birthday!
Something new again... tried the free motion stitching for the first time, although I used the regular foot in my machine so I had to turn the fabric around all the time.
koti (finnish) = home
When I found this fabric I feel in love with its soft colors and vintage feel. I used free motion stitching to enhance the design. I then sewed on pretty glass myuki beads on the top. I love the rouching on the side. I think it adds some thing different and feminine to a classic design.

This is 4.25 x 6", I painted and stitched a section of a Boticelli fresco. Giovanna Paying Homage to Venus and the Three Graces.
