Every year I try to do something nice with the lovely cards we receive.
This year i framed the cards I liked most, it's on our wall near the dining table till new year!
I wanted to paint the wooden frame in silver, but ran out of time...:-(
Car boot sale frame = £2. Old corkboard from charity shop = £1. Add Dulux eggshell and Heather Bailey fabric et voila!

The idea behind this one was to just frame the belly using a picture frame, only problem was that she was coming out the frame. In hindsight I could have composed the shot differently so that you could not see her. I did take a picture of the frame without her and then PS her in after but it looked like a picture hanging on the wall which I did not like much..
I did hang the frame using two bits of string and cloned them out in PS, I then took back in light rooms and made a further crop. I then increased the clarity, I reduced the blacks and highlights a bit. I then used the split tone to add a little colour in the black and white shot. I finally took the radial filter and reduced the sharpness and put my focus point round the stomach area so the only bit that was in focus was everything within the frame.

I used one of the Papyrus filters in picmonkey.com for this look, erasing its effect on the bird itself.
Unlike many people, gulls are one of my favorite birds :))
A solitary modern high-rise stands tall against the coastal backdrop, framed perfectly by the dark silhouettes of trees. The natural vignette gives the scene a cinematic, almost voyeuristic feel as if peeking into a hidden part of the city.

Last Saturday night I was in the Verizon store switching my cell phone over to a new one and I looked out the window and saw this magnificent sun descending. I said to the phone guy " I have to run outside NOW ... I'll be back" and ran out the door to capture the moment.

My first digital film experiment - 24 pictures shot with the camera in a mode that is most similar to what it was like shooting film. No editing has been done to these jpgs - just out of the camera using the Expressive creative filter.
