World Migratory Bird Day is celebrating in Uzbekistan from 2011 by staff and members of the leading Republican conservation NGO - Uzbekistan Society for the Protection of Birds (UzSPB). Mission of our NGO is: conservation birds as indicators of environment, their habitats and other components of biodiversity of Uzbekistan by means of nature-conservative initiatives collaborating with state organizations, NGOs and local communities as well as increasing potential of ornithologists and training new specialists for nature conservation. We join more than 180 members in 3 regional branches and 5 student bird watching clubs.

In 2012 educational activities and birdwatching events to mark WMBD took place in Tashkent, Samarkand regions of Uzbekistan and in Karakalpakstan. Totally more than 100 people participated in these days in WMBD events in Uzbekistan. Most of them are students. Thanks to the event they knew for the first time about cultural, social, historic, economic and spiritual connections we have with birds.

Celebration of WMBD campaign in Uzbekistan started from educational activities on one of Important Bird Areas - Dalverzin hunting management area in Tashkent region. 22 persons participated in the event. They are hunters and managers of the territory, students and lecturers of Faculty of Biological Sciences of the National University of Uzbekistan, members and staff of Uzbekistan Society for the Protection of Birds. Participants of the meeting learnt that celebration of ecological dates is a serious instrument of environmental education in a whole world. Information about bird migrations aroused interest of representatives of administration of the hunting management area. Second part of the meeting was held in a format of discussion. Staff and managers of the territory told about habits of settled and migratory bird species dwelling on the territory.

After this all participants of the event in Dalverzin took place in game . Thanks to this small staging participants became aware of many difficulties which face birds on the way of migration. Students and grown-ups divided into two teams: migratory birds and threatening factors. Such threatened factors as lines of power supply, fires, poachers and predators were identified. Part of road was designated as a way of migration with place of breeding marked on start and place of wintering marked on finish. Team of students portraying migratory birds lined up on start. Between start and finish hunters and managers of the territory portraying threatening factors located. When birds started migration they faced many barriers on their way. Not many players form team finished. After the game UzSPB presented manual for carrying out of ecological dates in Uzbekistan to managers and staff of the territory.

Celebration of WMBD continued in Tashkent. On 12 May members of student birdwatching club organized informal lecture for 20 student of the first and second year of Faculty of Biological Sciences of the National University of Uzbekistan. Organizers shared interesting facts about birds' migration with students, provided information about species of migratory birds of Uzbekistan. After this they played a game for identifying birds by their songs and pictures. Participants of the meeting also knew about White-winged Woodpecker - Bird of the Year 2012 in Uzbekistan. Competition for the best drawing or picture of the bird was announced.

On 14 May action to mark WMBD event took place on the Faculty of Philological Sciences of Samarkand State University. More than 40 students of the first year participated in the event. All of them prepared information about migratory bird species beforehand and made a speech on the meeting. Student knew that migratory birds flying over different countries face significant difficulties. To decrease this risk and combine efforts for their protection on flyways, during feeding, wintering and breeding joint efforts on regional and international levels are necessary. , - told organizer of the event Dr. Leylya Belyalova, teacher of chair of ecology of Samarkand State University.

Members of student birdwatching club at Karakalpak State University also joined WMBD. On 12-14 May members of the club together with Chairman of UzSPB Branch in Karakalpakstan participated in expedition in the framework of student ornithological project. Thanks to the expedition students celebrated the event on three natural territories: in Nurantubek riparian forest, on the lakes Ashikul and Akshoki. Students had an opportunity to watch process of migration in nature. We hope that by joint efforts of UzSPB members we could continue and widen celebration of World Migratory Bird Day in Uzbekistan in next years.

Hong Kong Umbrella Revolution 香港雨傘革命

What we need is immediate withdrawal of the NPCSC's decision on the framework for Hong Kong's political reform

True Democracy and peace! Please support us!

Protests and mass civil disobedience began in Hong Kong soon after the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress announced its decision on proposed electoral reform for the upcoming 2017 Hong Kong Chief Executive election. The Standing Committee would require a nomination committee to pre-approve up to three electoral candidates before proceeding to a vote involving the general population. After this election, the Chief Executive-elect would then still need to be formally appointed by the central government before officially taking the post. The decision also stipulates that "the Chief Executive shall be a person who loves the country and loves Hong Kong."These requirements are regarded by pro-democracy activists as a potential breach of the Sino-British Joint Declaration, which states that the Chief Executive should eventually be chosen through elections, and the Hong Kong Basic Law, which further clarifies that universal suffrage should be implemented for this selection.

The Hong Kong Federation of Students and Scholarism began protesting outside the government headquarters on 22 September 2014. In the evening of September 26, several hundred demonstrators breached a security barrier and entered the front plaza of the Central Government Complex, which has been barred from public entry since July 2014. Officers cordoned off protesters within the courtyard and restricted their movement overnight, eventually forcibly removing them the next day. Protesters were dragged away by police and some, including student leader Joshua Wong, were temporarily detained. Occupy Central announced that they would begin their civil disobedience campaign immediately.

Around noon on September 28, protesters marched onto Harcourt Road and proceeded to occupy Queensway as well, blocking both east-west arterial routes in northern Hong Kong Island. After a several hour standoff, police attempted to disperse crowds with pepper spray, tear gas, and water cannons, and warned that they would open fire with rubber bullets if protesters did not leave. Even more supporters joined the protest after this use of force, causing riot police to withdraw. It is the start of Umbrella Revolution.

Leer & ontwikkel capaciteiten

Congregative Realism

From Pentateuch to Arpanet, databases form our ethical foundation. They total to a framework by which we determine how to be nice, and how to ward off all that wishes to harm us. So a residency is a kind of safe haven, streamlined until secular/contemporary. Tomes we build churches around seem invincible, despite millions who are over it. You can’t just throw the bath water out and leave this really important baby right there, like in a shed outside for animals.

That said, even all-powerful texts are fragile in their way. Viewed from the right angle, they’ll have a lazy eye, a crooked facial feature, bad grooming, a chapter where two editors fought out their long-term grudge only to bewilder every reader. And one can hope that somewhere on this planet, reader, fan, and underwriter of the new museum wing all mean the same thing. One word says them all. You can call the entire faithful by name in just a breath. Hello, Goodbye, and Peace.

It’s in this “just took shelter + who wants to meet up” safe space that personal growth is a basic guarantee. Graceful acceptance of flaws and a ceasing of self-shame for having them is yours free online, in big groups of friends, and honestly in quite a bit of scripture. I’m going to back off from that last point though before it goes over the edge.

If you think of what a church is like, versus wherever you live now, and extend that to art practice, there’s a distinction between soothing and tolerated waking lives. A church has ceilings and windows. The windows are stained, with lots of red. So you’re literally seeing the world through rose-colored glasses. Also high ceilings – so far up they come to a point – supercharge your limitless certainty you’re worth everything.

Do it. Go for it. And since we’re going there, let’s say that artists can, if they feel like it, live as texts. A group show would be several translations happening all at once. A database of truths emerging through acerbic contradiction would bubble up. It would be the kind of thing a community flooring it down the left hand path, somewhere in the middle of a dérive-on blast road trip invents by accident. A close-knit crop of interfacing aims quite often does produce objects and events we feel such zealotry to protect. We cloak the events in oratory and marinate the objects in myth.

It’s just like parties broke New York creators threw twenty years ago wherever they wouldn’t be kicked out, only to be codified as Lifestyle we now will our puritanical best to simulate. There’s a recipe for disaster in there. Good thing we kept the evil out.
