Taking place at the WIPO Headquarters in Geneva from November 25-26, 2019, the Symposium provided a forum for exchanging ideas and perspectives on issues relating to the interface between trade secrets and innovation. It brought together panelists from across the globe to share their insights in the aspects related to policy, law, economics and businesses.

MEPs sounded the alarm on the Commission’s proposed long-term budget and warn that the 1.26% spending ceiling will force cuts to flagship programmes while debt repayments loom.

 

Parliament’s co-rapporteurs on the EU’s long-term budget, the multiannual financial framework (MFF), Siegfried Mureşan (EPP, RO) and Carla Tavares (S&D, PT), and co-rapporteurs for own resources Sandra Gómez López (S&D, ES) and Danuše Nerudová (EPP, CZ) issued the following joint statement on Wednesday 16th July 2025.

There followed a panel discussion on Whole Energy System Transition with Jo Aston, Managing Director at SONI (System Operator for Northern Ireland), Dr Andrew Cripps, Regional Director, Sustainability at AECOM, Charlie Simpson, Partner and Head of Mobility 2030, Global Strategy Group at KPMG UK, Michael McKinstry, Group Chief Executive Officer at Phoenix Natural Gas. Two parallel sessions followed: the first session on Energy Consumption was Chaired by Grainia Long, Commissioner for Resilience at Belfast City Council, with panellists: Pat Austin, Director at National Energy Action (NEA) Northern Ireland, Karl Purcell, Programme Manager of Behavioural Economics Unit at Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI), Professor Tom Woolley, Visiting Professor at Anglia Ruskin University, Richard Leach, Local Area Energy Planning Consultant at Energy Systems Catapult. Went to visit the secondary school where my son must go after next summer and was very impressed by this framework situated outside in the playground, it is only a framework without any wall, just to protect from the rain or sun;

I've been planning this in my head for a month, so I based the construction on observations made in the "real world".

 

I finally sat down and cobbled this together with styrene materials that I had available and using prototype (14' x 48') dimensions as reference. It's not as spindly as the prototypes appear to be, but this first attempt is acceptable.

"Vanuit het Elaboration Likelihood Model van Petty en Cacioppo (1986) wordt aangegeven een structurele positieve attitudeverandering een basis geeft voor gedragsverandering. Dit gedrag wordt gevormd in het model van Ajzen (1991). Naast Een link van attitude naar gedrag, is ook aangetoond dat gedrag aanleiding geeft tot attitudeverandering (Bem, 1972). Cialdini's perifere cue van commitment en consistency laat ook zien dat attitudes veranderen naar aanleiding van gedrag. Vanwege de omschrijving door Petty en Cacioppo wordt vanuit gedrag in de theorie van gepland gedrag een positieve verbinding gelegd naar verwerking in het Elaboration Likelihood model.

Naast de voordelen genoemd in de paragrafen van de betreffende theoriën heeft de sociale netwerkbenadering invloed op de subjectieve norm van Ajzen's theorie van gepland gedrag. Deze subjectieve norm is verder van belang wanneer sprake is van extrinsieke motivatie met introjected regulation en kan ook worden geholpen door de heuristieken Liking en Social Proof van Cialdini."
