That's a pano of 5 shots taken with a tele-zoom lens at about 70mm each (vertical frames). Stitched together, they form this nice view of the beautiful Cadini di Misurina, red under the sunset light.

Aryn hung the frames this afternoon, now all that is left is to choose the photos to put in them. Seems like a backwards way of doing things, but I needed a little extra motivation to decide what prints I wanted to display.
I'm still torn about whether or not to paint out all the frames in white (or the "distant grey" of our wall colour). I like the mix of black and white, but it's pretty busy. I wanted to do something like this. I promised Aryn I would live with the black and white for a while and then once I have selected all the photos for the wall and put them in the frames, only then will I be allowed to use a little photoshop magic to convert the frames to white to show Aryn what it might look like.
However, considering what would be involved in repainting all of those frames, this wall will probably stay much like it is. We've had the idea for awhile now, but here's a photo of a similar wall that I came across the the other day on desire to inspire
more photos from the e-session, strobist info- yn560 off-camera left for fill, 1/4 cto. In retrospect, should have placed flash closer, silly shadows appear
First serious job with a new camera and my favourite wedding image of the year so far.
This is from Victoria and Ashley's wedding at Westenhanger Castle in Kent. More here.
I get lots of questions about pictures like this so I'll try to answer some of them here. But if you have more just post them below.
Q: How did this happen?
A: This is a real wedding ;) We'd gone inside the castle for some portrait shots, I asked Ashley to lie on the bed, posed the flowers and got Victoria to stand on the trunk. 3....2....1....
Q: How many goes did this take?
A: 1. Frame before and frame after are different shots. With the lighting I was using I knew there was no point shooting on motor drive and we wouldn't get another chance at the jump.
Q: How is this lit?
A: A Lencarta Safari with a 180cm strip box just out of shot on the left. It's mostly lighting Ashley but plenty of light bounces back to light Tor. Can't remember the power - probably halfway or so.
Q: Seriously you took a brand new camera to a client's wedding?
A: Almost. This is a new D3S. I've shot with a D3 for 2 years and over 150K frames. I'd shot with the S long enough to know the differences. And that I could rely on the focussing.
The lovely Lych Gate of All Saints Church in Enford frames the leaded windows behind. It is believed that there has been a church here since the 11th Century. The Lych Gate is also the parish war memorial which names those who made the supreme sacrifice and also of the sacrifice made by their families.

I was at the park to test the new Pentax full frame camera. I hadn't spent much time with the camera before going to the park. I had the camera shooting 1x1 frames by mistake. Also I noticed the camera autofocus locked up twice. To correct the issue I had to turn the camera off and remount the lens. Not something you want to do in the middle of a show. I'm thinking it was the 64GB memory card. I remember having problems before when using it. It has sat in the bag for so long that I forgot all about why it was sitting in the bag.
This was shot during the Frozen – Live at the Hyperion show at Disney California Adventure.
Both taken this week in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The stained glass is in city hall. The pub with the framed mirrors had the best lemonade.

An ongoing project of curating original art work in the public space. Members of the collective send framed works to one artist, and that artist installs the works on the streets.
In the new Mobile Frame Zero game that's in the making (you can find it on kickstarter), there will be mobile frames fighting alongside spaceships. The frames don't have to be to scale with the ships, but they still have to be pretty tiny to not look out of place.

Robin: “That’s an impossible shot, Batman.”
Batman: “That’s a negative attitude, Robin.”
This should be my last shot from London at the moment.
I took this as I was walking back to London Victoria train station but stopped off for a last couple of frames.
I chose the title and quotes as to me this has a dark moody feel just like Gotham City from Batman and Robin the caped crusaders.
Something was happening as they started blocking off the roads and the police helicopter was hovering with it's search lights on, so i grabbed a few shots and headed off for my train.
This was taken with my camera on my tripod and cable release.
Thankyou for following my London series and I hope you liked them as I'm really pleased with them.

Will be busy printing and framing in nice large, matted formats and frames and museum glass! Five of these photos will be printed on 40" x 60" floating wall mounted metal sheets! I think I know which--will share photos of the photos hanging on the walls!
And I am mounting some on plexiglass/acryllic--front mounting them! Some I am printing on lossy fuji-crystal archival paper too, and then front mounting 40"x60" versions to plexiglass--will send photos!
The secret to HDR photography is that you want people to say, "Woe dude--that's unreal!" And not, "Dude--that's not real!" "Unreal" is the word they use when they're trying to figure out the photo--what makes it cool--is it a photo? Is it painted? How'd it come to be--how'd you bend the light that way? "That's not real," is what they say if you have the saturation/HDR/ etc. turned up too high. :)
Some (almost) final edits for my Los Angeles Gallery Show! Printing them on metallic paper at 13" x 19" and mounting and framing them on a 4mm 18x24 white mat and 2" dark wood frame. Also printing some 40" x 70" whihc is over three feet by five feet! Wish you all could come (and hang out with the goddesses)!
