Meanwhile, three others were framed though the field scan doesn't look good so I'll try a darkroom print on Monday.
Presenting photos is a hard challenge and Flickr, which we all know and love, may not provide the very best interface for that purpose.
In this series of 20 photos I try to present them in a more traditional manner that you would use for a print - namely on a matte with a dark frame.
This photo is of a leaf frozen in the ice. The ice is melting and creating a layer of reflecting water. Taken with a Canon 5DmkII and the Canon 24-105L. The 24-105L is really one of my favourite lenses.

I printed out the Bee on Echinacea photo for my father as a birthday present and it doesn't look half-bad. My first framed photo. :D
This bee was just in the right place and time when I stumbled upon it. I think that this shot is good enough on its own where I don't have to muddle it up with wordiness.

Framed Singer
Festival of the Lion King
Disney's Animal Kingdom
I was on the fence about this shot originally. I kept going back and forth on it because I thought the legs of the stilt performer distracted from the singer. In the end I looked at it as the stilts being a frame for the picture itself. So it worked out in the end for a unique shot.

My first framed purse. Made from u-handag's tutorial (http://u-handbag.typepad.com/uhandblog/how_to_make_this_pursebag/) - thank you Lisa! Attaching the frame was quite challenging, but I was really pleased with result.
Kiwis are handprinted - with simple stencil. The red fabric is from old altarboys' vestments. So glad I could finally used it for something - and it turned out to be a fantastic fabric for stencil prints.

Material: tongue and groove pine flooring
Source (approx age): Residential House, South Buffalo, NY (approx 1900)
Price: 20.00
4x4 inch (matte size) picture or photo frame.
Made from recycled flooring from a green deconstructed house in south Buffalo, New York. several houses were deconstructed and the materials salvaged by Action Reuse (reuseaction.com or see their photo set on flickr). The houses were removed for expansion of a nearby hospital. the wood is flooring that is approximately 100 years old and is yellow pine. It bears the mark of years and untold numbers of feet tromping across it. Most was/is being recycled into new flooring but I liked the color and grain and marking on it. The original tongue can be seen around the edges and the former groove is now the rabbet that holds the glass. Each piece is mitered and biscuit joined together so they are quite sturdy.
The glass is also reclaimed from old stock or salvaged window frames. Each is finished with water based polyurethane finish and has keyholes for hanging. The only parts that aren't recycled are the biscuits, glue and glazier's points so they are ecologically friendly (if only a little in the total scheme). But these make a beautiful statement about the the preciousness and the futility of throwing so much away in the landfills.

I want to frame my college diploma like this to hang in my new office. I photoshopped together this picture. My mom is going to bring her mat cutter with her when my parents come to visit for Thanksgiving and we're going to try to do this.
