There are so many interesting public art installations around the Lower Mainland, some of them large and obvious, others small and blending in to the landscape.

Framed by the unloading dock, early Ruston & Hornsby 20DL class loco 235654 of 1946 is seen at Greenwoods Tileries of Barton Haven, Humberside in the early 1980s.
Greenwoods was one of several tileries and brickworks on the south bank of the Humber, taking clay from the shore and drying it to form bricks and tiles. They bought this loco from its original owner the Elsham Lime Co. near Brigg.
After withdrawal from service it was sold and restored for use at the Abbey Light Railway in Leeds, when this closed in 2013 it was moved to the private Richmond Light Railway in Kent.

I wanted to celebrate the acquisition of our occupancy permit, so I designed this from scratch in Illustrator CS5 and cut it out with the Milwaukee Makerspace's 60 watt laser cutter.
Roycraft pack frame I built using Rock Mountain maple. I used 550 cord for the tie-downs and they can be repurposed for many uses. I decided to used webbing for the straps instead of rope as I think the webbing is stronger and lighter for its use.
Here I am framing an old print from the 1950’s on the deck of our new vacation cabin in Carmel Valley. We and 102 other cabin owners have access to 2,600 acres of some of the most wild and beautiful landscape in central California. My wife and I have been looking for a special place just like this for years and it still doesn’t seem real. I will be exploring and taking lots of photos this spring when the furnishing and fixing up phase is over.

The lever frame at Bridlington South Signal Box. I loved this job when it was a mechanical signal box. It was a long time since its heyday but a lovely place to work.
A Mogens Lassen sketch from 1943 forms the starting point for Frame,
a flexible storage solution comprised of square boxes in cubic frames.
Frame modules can be hung directly on the wall, connected together,
stacked, or stand on their own on the floor. Combine Frame modules
into a classic shelf, a unique sculpture or something entirely new. The
individual combination options are endless. Frame is manufactured
in Denmark and created with attention to detail. Frame unites
functionality, quality and aesthetics. You decide the ultimate look.

Even if you zoom in tightly, you will often find that large areas of the picture are wasted. A simple solution is to find something that will fill this unused space.
By changing the viewpoint, something as simple as an overhanging branch can be used to cover over a dull area—effectively creating a border around the image. This technique can be extended to provide a complete frame within the viewfinder...
It works well in dull weather to help counteract the effect of flat lighting.

My first attempt at making a framed purse. Have been meaning to make one for a very long time, & when my makeup bag died, I decided to use this Nicole Mallalieu Design purse kit, & knew I wanted to use this sample fabric from Thea & Sami, which is almost upholestry weight fabric.
The purse came together remarkably quickly for me, & I did use both medium interfacing & fusible wadding for stability.

I have had a hard time trying to scan this thing and it's still not right. Sorry, but this is the best I can do.
I also have had this clear set for a while now and this is the first time I have gotten it out to use.
HA CL 130 (Frames and Flowers)
LL 228 (Solid Flowers Flourish) used only a portion of this stamp.... it's the flower inside the frame. This is for that challenge about what to do with stamps we never seem to know how to use. Good grief! I forgot what NIFTS stands for. It must be old age catching up with me. Maybe someone will enlighten me.
Anyway thanks for looking.
