A warning sign found washed up on the beach in Departure Bay, my son's broken skateboard, rusted-iron dolphins fashioned by my partner, a shovel, and several other items. The haphazrd installation is part of a cemetery in my backyard on Vancouver Island. The vegetation is my friend. More about the cemetery can be found in my blog's cemetery catergory.

Larry Auerbach collected creepy objects.

From a series of photographs of objects and inscriptions I find in books I buy used.

Playing around with the odds and ends on my bench--leftovers from other pieces, things started and not finished--these 2 emerged as finished pieces.

FOUND ITEM at the HUNKY JESUS CONTEST...it was fun finding a few things at the contest grounds, but it was MORE fun seeing other photographers capturing those LOST ITEMS ! ADDA wanted to tap them on the shoulder and say, "If you want views, go for the BARE CHESTS, if you want FOUND OBJECTS go to ADDA's non-view flickr set!" LOL

A braze welded sculpture of recycled bicycle parts. The legs and hips are rear derailleur plates, and the tail, head, and jaw of the mount is a brake lever and housing. The teeth are chain pins on a link plate.

The rider's torso is made of two rear derailleur mounting pegs, and a brake caliper forms its shoulders and arms. In its right manipulator is a spring clip from the underside of a saddle, and in its left is a staff of a handlebar stem bolt and expander nut, rear derailleur spring, and a wheel bearing race nut.

On its shoulders is an epaulette of a brake cable guide sleeve and a head of a tube clamp and alignment washer. It wears a jaunty hat of a headset locknut.

Solid Trash!

Summer 2007

Bones found on the Thames Foreshore. I love the one that capured a stone.

This necklace just was awarded First Place at the Visual Arts Exchange "Unfettered" show. It is made from a deconstructed vintage straight razo

FOUND ITEM (OBJECT TROUVE)- those absolutly wonderful items found on the streets of SAN FRANCISCO and PARIS,,,,

How else can one explain ADDA DADA's over 4,000,000 views....oh, those BARE CHESTS...

SOLD

This is the third in a series where I have taken the little octopus seen everywhere on Etsy and changed it in some major way. For this one I used my jeweler's saw to deconstruct the little guy and put a clockworks in him. I wanted it to look as though the clockworks were bursting out in a transformative way. He is about 3 1/2" wide by 2 1/2" deep and is on a 18" vintage copper finish chain with a hammered finish. A lobster safety clasp completes the necklace. I am a trained silversmith and this piece is riveted together for a lifetime of wear. One of a kind.

...or some kind of Wiccan ritual on the Dolores St. median divider?

More glass finds from Thames foreshore mudlarking.

Tejp Remy. Dutch. Rags and Metal Strips.

The Rag Chair is made of thrown out rags, pieces of clothing and discarded metal strips. Remy creates each chair from found materials and also allows customers to send in their own discarded clothes to be included in the design.

While the Rag Chair is meant to be a comfortable piece of furniture, it also acts a a historical documentation. Because the Chair is made of previously worn clothing, the user can see the growth, change, and style reference over time- allowing the user to reflect on his or her past.

a photo collage project based on items found in the street

They say it's a very clear indicator of Desperate Photographer Syndrome when you stop and take a pic of noodles on the street.

But what the heck ... it was a beautiful afternoon and fine fresh air. Plus, one could wonder and speculate as to why a box of noodles happened to be laying there.

Assemblage, wood, foil, doll, frame, acrylics, sewing drawer..

FOUND ITEM: ADDA loves those 'found objects" and low and behold...A FOUND OBJECT TO TAKE HOME...no, NOT adda...the SUNGLASSES silly!
