Smokers take turns waiting for the "void".

Inspired by the Vestie Davis painting Luna Park, this bracelet features a fun and funky jumble of beads. Color seems to be my nemesis so I am on a quest to add more color to this design, and I think I used them all here! Bracelets are a challenge for me too, but superstar designer Lorelei makes it look so easy, so I am trying to break my necklace only streak.

Much of the components came from a kit I bought from Jennifer Heynen of Jangles (www.jangles.etsy.com). Kit included the Jangles toggle, some ceramic rounds, the tiny dice and bingo chip and strands of multicolored seed beads.

To this mix I added some assorted beads including a glass heart from my Rings & Things blog partner goodie bag, sterling silver bead, a vintage blue boot button and the cutest little lady bug I purchased from Andrew Thornton's treasure trove.

And the chain? Oh yeah...found object (my specialty)...part of a steel choke chain for dogs I picked up at the hardware store! You really can find inspiration everywhere!

Enjoy the day!

I found this in a gutter during my afternoon walk. I had to pick it up and now it is nailed to my fence. I am guessing it is from an old stove.

Beautiful Found Objects in an old saucer.....Old antique pipe, shells, acorn, etc...

A wonderful old paint brush with a metal veil. I think the metal veil came from Guatemala years ago. The eyes are bottle caps with doll eyes and the nose is a piece of wood.

Michael's heavy duty guitar bristles with rusty nails and other found metal objects. It hangs out in the garden and dares anyone to pick it up and play it.

This happy little fella was started in Michael de Meng's Mad Alchemist's Cabinet workshop at Valley Ridge Art Studio. He consists of an old box, doll arms, deer skull, plastic bags, an old stand, a stone, a clock part, two sleigh bells and some transfers. Oh yeah, and a home-made condom. Exhibited in The Riverwest Artists' Associations February gallery show The Thin Line, a thematic exhibition that explores the infamous thin line between love and hate which ran February 13 – March 11, 2010.

As summer has turned into fall it's time to say good-bye for a while to one of my favorite insects, the mighty cicada. Take your cicada love with you into the cool weather with this little beauty. Brass cicada measures about 2"long by about 1" wide. I first put a rich black patina on the little critter, then riveted it securely to a ring and hung it from an 18" black brass ball chain. Ready for your wearing pleasure.

Found more than six pounds of sea glass yesterday. There were a lot more sea glass hunters on the beach, probably because it was one of the lowest tides of the year.

When Prof. Erstwhile Entwhistle happened upon the wreckage of the Time Machine he was shocked at what he saw. Yes, the beautiful hand-etched brass ribbing was intact, even Lady Matilda Machination's gorgeous and ingenious control panel was present. Many other inspired and well-crafted items for journeying through space and time survived the crash. What puzzled him most however was the lack of human remains. Not a bone, scrap of cloth, hank of hair was present. A chill went up and down his back as all that he found were these time-traveler goggles. It is with much regret that he has entrusted me to put these up for sale with the proceeds earmarked for the repair of his precious mechanism. Let'em eat steam!

These are standard flip-top welding/brazing goggles that have been embellished with well-sealed faux gold leaf which was further "antiqued" with a faux finish. They are ready to be worn as they are or modded further to meet your steamy needs. If you find the eyecup goggles too dainty for your look these are a great alternative.
