I created this little mascot for a very good friend of mine who just happens to work for Tivo, the company who developed the world's first DVR.

I've uploaded lots of my 'digital alchemy' here at Flickr, but very little of what I call my 'physical alchemy'. These are my assemblage and mixed media pieces that do in the physical world with collage and layering, what I love to do in the digital world with PS and layers. Of course in the real world there is no 'undo' and I have to plan and think very carefully how my layers will go together. There is a small medieval knight on from a balsamic vinegar label pasted lower center, that's sort of where the name comes from on this one. This is about three to four inches thick and 54" wide and 27" high

Materials used: old planer, inside and outside piece of an electric drill, bicycle lamp, s.o.s. locket, big caster and some other bits and pieces…

This bracelet is made with an image of the title character from "Serial Experiments Lain", a very creepy show that explores the boundary between virtual and real life.
The electronic components came from a broken cell phone. The bottle cap-based charm is attached to the bracelet chain with a variety of wires and an alligator clip.
Mixed Media, 2008.
AllState measures in at 21" tall and is fabricated from a vintage Sears Roebuck and Co. battery booster. His head is fashioned from an aluminum laboratory beaker and his jaw from a measuring cup. AllState's eyes are a TV cable fitting, his nose a clock gear. Flexible gas line and a modified aluminum turnbuckle make up his arms/hands. He stands tall on old skool chrome BMX trick pegs and a pair of chalk line reel cases.

Gear Racer
This creation is a “Lockwasher version” of a mono-cycle. Inspired by the 1994 Anime film from Katsuhiro Otomo, Steamboy. Made up of machine gears, bicycle brake parts, outdoor light and a copper double boiler. Our little pilot is going nowhere fast, but doing it in style

Mad Mark built this in the middle of the night out of materials lying around the Bulb. Clint Eastwood wants to help get it designated an historical landmark. It is has a heart shaped roof, a little spiral staircase, and an amazing view. It's gotten a little scary inside though.

Introducing Ernestine, another one of my full size assemblage robot (i've really do enjoy fabricating the larger pieces). This metal maiden is currently on display down at our local Community Center along with a collection of pieces from the artist guild I belong to. Top down - Aluminum ground wire, antique ceiling light fixture, aluminum water carafe, antique hot/cold faucet knobs, large coffee grounds basket , vintage coffee urn (Ernestine...get it?), Harley Davidson fender supports, industrial light reflector, super long candle stick holders, go kart hubs. That's a turn buckle between her legs...I needed to anchored her to a 24" round steel plate to ensure that the little ones wouldn't topple her...kids love to play with the sculptures. Stands 5' tall
I love creating found object doodles and post them on Instagram, "Found Object Art" gallery on Flickr, Pinterest, Tumblr and in my Found Object Art portfolio.
While waiting for the photoshoot for my big object (the '32 Ford roadster), and working on a big junkart Batman bike, I couldn't resist doing this small trike. Hope you like it!
