You can find art almost anywhere, if you look hard enough. Here's the story of how I became interested in Found Object art.

One of my sculptures made with found parts. Inspiration for the title goes to James E410, a Flickr friend. Tintop is the British term for a car with a metal roof, as opposed to a convertible.

Mixed materials, approx. 17cm tall, 11cm wide and 15cm high.

Materials used: Vintage alarm clock, Ikea lamp, parts of a flower box, bike parts and other bits and pieces.

The piece measures 20 x 9 and hangs nicely on the wall. I used found objects:

scrap pieces of metal, a doll arm, spring, wood, threads, paper clips, glass etc.

Guerrilla art made w/ peanut butter and found objects, seen on Orchard Street in Watertown, ma on July 1, 2009.

The path leading down to the swimming pond at Distant Hill Gardens is lined with two sculptures built by Michael from metal parts found on the property.

Mixed materials, approx. 24cm tall, 15cm wide and 28cm high.

Materials used: bottom half of a flatiron, peppermill part, wood from an old coaster, a vintage lubricating thing,

inner part from a busdriver stamp, copper chains and a few more bits and pieces…

Two concrete and steel 36 inch vanities with a 24 inch vanity cabinet in between. Two UpShifted Ingersol Rand industrial pattern/mold parts turned into urban loft mirrors.

I collaged the assorted threads onto the board for her hair and added paper clips that I had shaped into spirals.

Steel and dark walnut wood console below a steel and mirror collaboration between Slab Fab studio and Blacksmith Ingrid Hill.

Materials used: vintage barbershop hairclipper, old ‘wheel’ clock, wheels from a toy, handle bar from miniature bike and other bits and pieces.
