For my first solo exhibition ( summer 2015 in museum Kinderwereld) I'll be making 3, maybe 4 big objects.
This is a little preview for the first object, please ignore the mess in my workshop. I do try to keep it tidy, but it always only stays that way for a few hours...

The High Line Park, that extraordinary oasis atop an old elevated rail line in Chelesea, is looking lush and gorgeous right now. The plants are acclimatizing well since the park opened a year ago and it feels more and more like the urban nature preserve of many imaginations, albeit with comfortable places to sit, amazing lighting at night and spotless, litter-free walkways.
There are also lots of trash cans - not found on the old High Line of course - and giving into my trash picking artist instincts I peeked into many during my walk there the other day, doing a quick survey of the contents around noon on a weekday. Far and away, there were more cardboard coffee cups than anything else: Joe's Coffee, Ninth Street Coffee, 'Wichcraft, Starbucks, 7-11, anonymous deli cups and more. 'Wichcraft sometimes has a coffee cart up here, but not today. These are all carry in, and leave behind.
Is it a New York City thing or is it everywhere, this walking with a coffee cup?

I twisted Universal's head in relationship to his mouth during assembly and it gave him that "Yo, Tony" kinda NY "attitude"...not that there's anything wrong with that...

We received this incredible found object art birdhouse from Henry Leo's parents as a gift. It was made by Kelly Aaron, a talented artist residing in Kansas City, MO.
Ms. Aaron used a moasic method to place all sorts of interesting objects onto the bird house "body". I fashioned some wire, twisted into a strand, to hang it from a garden shepard's hook.
Kelly Aaron's husband is Jason Aaron, the author of "The Other Side" a comic book now bound as a graphic novel (or more accurately a TPB) about the Vietnam War. A talented couple, indeed.

Levin C. Abantius, aka the traveller is able to travel long distances through time and space. Trying to unravel the mysteries of life.
It’s a hard life for him, as he is merely an observer. It’s dangerous to mess with history as the changes to
the future are unpredictable. The older he gets, the more enigmatic he becomes, questions are raised:
why does he have a skull on his walking cane? And what do those 6 notches on it represent?
