And a tutorial.

16" x 16" Quilt / Pillow

Time to come out of the shadows.

Zeit, um aus dem Schatten.

Made for a swap on Flickr. Paper pieced based on a print.

Large queen-size wedding quilt for my sister-in-law and her new husband. There are approximately 80 pieced stars (each with 24 pieces) a quarter of which are only 2in across. Quilting the background took forever even longer than piecing the stars. March 2010. More detail here: sampaguitaquilts.blogspot.com/2010/05/nullarbor-stars-fin...

I used the geese templates from Piece and press. pieceandpress.blogspot.co.uk/2012/04/traveling-quilts-rou...

Rainbow scraps mixed with Yarn dyed linen in Black and some wavy quilting.

A class I took at my favorite quilt shop, First seen in 'Passionate Patchwork' . Followed the pattern by Myra Mitchell from start to finish!

This is the completed California Dreamin quilt top :o) To compliment (I hope) the off center Barn Raising layout I pieced a diamond border to only run along the two sides. Now to begin the quilt back :o)

Well here it is in full partner. I hope I fussy cut and hand stitched to your liking! It was a lot of fun to make. Hope you will enjoy it! Pearl Bracelets for the lining. www.craftyshenanigans.blogspot.co.uk

Did I mention this was my first time making a NYB and sewing curves? Yup! Approx 11"x11".

Blocks sewn together. It measures 42" x 45" without borders as I reduced the block size to 75%.

Just needs borders now!

Forest QAL foundation pieced, hand quilted

When I received Sabines box I recognized that a lot of space in the blue sky was left to fill in her rainforest quilt (all blocks for a quilt/theme in our challenge were attached on a linen so the next one could see what he may do. So the blocks can give a "picture").

I had choosen the blue and yellow macaw, a paper piecing pattern from Linda Hibbert from this side:

www.silverliningsoriginals.com

Luckily or unfortunately I had found this pattern: it was really hard work! The more I had to make the pattern smaller to fit (20 x 30 cm) which didn´t make the work easier! I blamed myself for choosing that pattern ("masochistic" was a word that came to my mind) - but now I am really, really happy with the result!

measures 24x30

The center of the mini log cabin is complete :o) Initially I had thought to do a 3 x 3 mini quilt. However, I have decided to go with this 2 x 2 and maybe add a border. Currently it measures 14.5" square. I've sketched out border samples with 9-patch corners and squares on point...not sure which way to go.I have a great stripe from the Fresh Flowers line to use for binding so maybe I should just do that and not add borders...decisions, decisions. Oh, and the colors are aqua and a soft butter yellow...this picture does not represent them well. Sure hope you like this partner :o)

From Elizabeth Hartman's Practical Guide to Patchwork. Free motion quilted.

I am in total awe of anyone who makes a whole quilt of these blocks. This had me tearing my hair out (and doing a LOT of unpicking!)

This quilt is king size and is for sale on etsy!

It occurred to me after I made up the mug rug I just sent away that there could be an easier way to do this. It took me less than an hour to sew up this top. If you're interested, you can find a tutorial on my blog: terriesandelin.blogspot.com/2011/02/sashed-squares-mug-ru...

Pattern is by Jennifer Ofenstein and can be found on sewhooked.org

For the Trim the Tree Handmade Ornament swap - I hope you like this little guy partner! He is only 3x2.5 inches!!

27" x 27" Quilt / Wall Hanging

Sew & turn applique including wadding to give lots of 'layers'. Design based a clip art I came across on the net. The artist was happy for me to use his art for this quilt.

Another paper pieced block complete. Thank you Kristy for the pattern :)

24" x 33" Quilted Wall Hanging

Made for a lovely quilting friend using Word Play Unruly book Techniques. So much fun to make.

This is the August project that can be found on my website: terriesandelin.com. It uses the Square-in-a-Square foundation from Miniatures in Minutes.

It measures 17" square.

Large King size quilt, made in 2011 and featured in Australian Patchwork & Quiltling v20 n11. Foundation pieced and free-motion quilted.

This is a string quilt I have been working on for my sister. Initially I planned on using the multiple diamonds layout that is most popular with this paper pieced block. However, I just could not face the prospect of making 16 more blocks so I began contemplating other layouts. After doing some looking around on flickr and the Web I came up with this one (similar to a values quilt layout). I think I like it; but, it may need one more row across the bottom so it is a rectangle instead of a square...opinions? Edit: I went ahead and added another row across the bottom. Also, I've learned that the name of this layout is Barn Raising.

Four Seasons Quilt Swap - Summer 2008. 20" square. Foundation pieced blocks with broderie-perse applique. Look closer for the quilting detail in the corners. July 2008.

Large wallhanging originally started as a baby's play quilt. I adapted the Palm block to make it considerably more complicated. Each of the 16 blocks has 38 pieces, and took about 25 minutes to remove the foundation papers from - yes each block. Background quilted with Emming (McTavishing) and entered in the SA Quilt Guild 2009 Festival of Quilts. September 2009. Blogged with more photos here: sampaguitaquilts.blogspot.com/2009/10/bloggers-quilt-fest...

Completely forgot to upload this one ages ago. It was done for the previous round of STUD swap. It was suppose to be true mini, but nor it is mini nor it has a shape as true mini should have. But my partner liked it :)

I don't really think that this is to your taste, partner, but just in case it is . . . I thought I'd ask.

I wish this paid the bills.

12 inches square. Yes, really.

Or, I guess, more like 4 blocks down and 96 more to go.

Whichever way you look at it, I guess :)

11" string blocks combined (4) to make a complete block at 21 1/2".

The first block completed for my king size quilt... wish me luck!
