The large clubhouse at Clifton Park, home since 1967 to York Cricket Club. Rugby union (York Rugby Union Club), squash and tennis are also played at a site known as York Sports Club. York Cricket Club's previous ground, Wigginton Road, is now covered with the buildings of York Hospital.
Plans have changed, I am quite happy with that. What a relief it truly is!

A surprising charity shop purchase - a Certo Super-sport. I've never come across an interchangeable-lens folder before, capable of various 120 format negatives, and plates as well. Dating from around 1936, at a guess, as the later ones had a rangefinder.
When I found the camera, the lens was in upside down and jammed. Once I realised the assembly was designed to be interchangeable, I managed to extract it gently and work out how it should fit, trapped behind the little pip in the centre of the picture. The silver part slides the lens mount back and forward to correct the film plane to lens distance for either film or plates.
