The scene was tragic. Forsythia Fork was inconsolable beside the crumpled form of Heinzelmannchen the Gnome. Forsythia told me she had been happily raking the path and loosening the soil here and there when she came across Heinzelmannchen bleeding profusely and gasping for breath at the fork in the path. "I was ambushed", he whispered between hacking coughs. "It was Pitch, your uncle, he got me at last. I thought he was in Austria, but he must have sneaked back into the country to settle old scores". And with one last convulsive gasp he was gone. Back to the place where all good gnomes go. I made a note to send out an APB for Pitch and to circulate the photo I had of him on that mysterious path in Austria. I vowed that Heinzelmannchen's death would be avenged.

The lumberyard needed a fork lift truck. This part of the layout is set ca. 1941, so a bit of improvising with a Jordan kit was required
Fork's Washington....
The Dying town that was saved by a teenage vampire/shapeshifting warewolf novel. I'm not a twilight fan, my wife is. I just happen to live close to Forks. Forks is the last place in the world i ever thought anyone would go out of there way to be. Forks has always been more of a gas and lodge town not a destination. Now all on the account of Hollywood Forks is probably the biggest tourist trap per capita west of Seattle. I'd never live there because its too isolated.57 miles(one way) to Port Angleles and 75 miles to Aberdeen(the other way) and in between that there is nothing. Impassable mountains to the east and the ocean to the west. Its rainy and nasty 300 days a year.
Pictures taken in the town of Forks, Washington. The town is where Stephanie Meyer set her twilight series. Readers will be able to recognize many places.

The fork bending jig made by Malcolm. We copied a design from CircleA cycles here:

It doesn't look pretty but this was a prototype. The former is supposed to be made from hardwood but we used two pieces of mdf, which had been routed then bolted together. The whole thing is bolted to a metal table.
