a play on words.. altho i will redo it next time i get good light. the composition isnt the greatest, and im always looking for a good excuse to lay in the middle of the road.

I'm so glad I have almost all of my bike parts so I can check clearances by sight rather than relying on formulas and measurements alone.

This is just how long the fork blades ended up being after I raked them. Not any too long! I think I might even them up and go with it.

A quick purchase of foamcore for a ground plane and bounce plate, along with the trusty 2X macro.

Once again I huddle on the floor next to the sliding glass window with several cushions - I think I used a black stuffed animal as a base for the camera.

Starting to build up the frame to wrap around the 26" wheelset I built a few months ago. Set up with a 1½" Nashbar tire, but there's (barely?) enough room to fit a 1¾" tire under the fork.

It will probably end up being Yet Another Randonneuse™, but we'll see what happens as this batch of frames (the gravel®©™℠ frame, the xtracycle replacement, and this thing) slowly grind their way through production.

(Rim brake; maybe I'll put a set of Mafac Racers on the thing as a variation on the v-brake theme?)

Well this is what I came up with after editing this picture taken on another walk (FINALLY GETTING WARMER WOOT!). I always think of what I can do with a picture after I take it. I wanted grit and dirty so hopefully that comes across. Let me know! Hope you like it! This is not an HDR but looks pretty good anyway :D

DO NOT USE WITHOUT PERMISSION

When I wasn't focusing on my kid while at Applebees, I focused on this fork.

David Warden at the finishing line. He came in 2nd overall. Great job David!

So I didn't go out today

Day 213

12th March 2010

Hoorah! Tomorrow P is home, its been a long week, can't wait to have him back home :)

Had a headache for most of the day as Chap decided that he was going to wake up at 5am this morning...finally started to clear now so managed to think about today's photo for a few moments!

Last night I finished the 3rd book in the Twilight Saga by Stephanie Meyer, the connection is that the town that the books are set in is called Forks LOL. I'm loving the books, I know that strictly they are for teenagers and I am 31 this year (eep) but I still feel like a teenager at heart and nothing says romance like a vampire and a werewolf fighting for your attentions ;D

The drop of water on the fork was Neha's idea :) The dark region on the bottom left is a little distracting. Lesson learnt!

Results of a dull day indoors

The DUC fork came to us used, in a black ano color. The matte black, and the older Maverick graphics didn't work with the bright carbon finish on the frame. Stripping a polishing the fork would have just overwhelmed everything else, so we opted for a complementary silver metallic powder coat. Spectrum Powderworks in Boulder went over the top with a matching carbon fork graphic. I have learned to be consistently surprised and impressed with their work

The fork conrod has this section cut out. This is where the blade conrod will go.

Aaaaaaahhhhh.....our beautiful new fork lift. (And behind it, the "snorkel" system for ventillating the welding area.)

The 7th Annual Field & Fork presented by JPMorgan Chase was hosted at Brown-Forman Silo Center in Turkey Run Park on Saturday, September 7, 2019. Proceeds from this fundraiser benefit The Parklands of Floyds Fork, which maintains the nearly 4,000 acre donor-supported park system.

idea was that, without the reflection, it'd be hard to guess its a fork.

These are aggressive and fearless birds, given their small size, and will attack much larger species, including birds of prey if their nest or young are threatened.

Tyrannus savana (ssp?)

10 km west of La Y, Apure state, Venezuela.

Two subspecies occur in this part of Venezuela (even together), and I don't think it is possible to determine which one based on the angle of the bird in the photo.

I'll go buy a star nut tomorrow and cut the steerer tube down to fit. This stem is just a place holder until the new one arrives.
