Here's another foreground shot using only a single object. I shoot lots of dried (dead) flowers as I love the intensity of color and texture. Love how it shows the dust on the tip of the in focus petal. I might try to make a graphic out of this and put in on a t-shirt. Used the same technical idea - fast shutter speed, large aperature, no tripod. Again it worked OK for this - but I realize that that approach won't work well for all macros!
The rule of thirds exemplified here-a little properly lit foreground goes a long way to making a pleasing picture!
