Okay, these guys creeped me out. Not so much because of how they looked, but because I kept hearing crows in the background and it reminded me of "Jeepers Creepers" and i was on a back country dirt road and it was cold and windy! Yikes!
I alway look forward to morning outings with the camera when the skies are stormy and forboding. Its skies like these that inspire me and give new vision to places I see all the time. :)

The Tongariro National Park was used to depict Mordor in the Lord of the Rings trilogy. I thought this picture of the sun breaking through some pretty forboding looking clouds really captured the mood.
Lucky for me, my neighbors don't mind me crawling around in their yards taking pictures. Who could have resisted on a gorgeous day like today?
I was not in the mood for subtle editing tonight. I added a photo veil from Love that Shot called "Poison Hemlock." I like the way it took the bright blue sky and made it dark, mysterious and a little forboding.
We bush wacked our way down Loss Creek from the road bridge to a small canyon. It had rained yesterday, so the water was flowing fast and the creek was full. This is a wide angle shot using an ND110 filter. I like how it turned out, dark and forboding. Loss Creek is on the southern coast of Vancouver Island in British Columbia.
Herculaneum was destroyed along with Pompeii when Mount Vesuvius erupted in AD79, burying the towns in ash, pumice and pryoclastic flows. It was the latter that buried the town of Herculaneum.
The photo shows both the ancient excavated ruins - which are in incredible condition for being over 2000years old, and the modern town built above it.
In the background stands for the for forboding spectre of Mount Vesuvius that so violently destroyed the town.
The clouds really made the scene that much more forboding!
