the soil erases and repeats, splattering across our fingertips
a mud toned shimmer staining through the night sky.
but with this clutch comes the luring of our weathered lips closer then before
the heavy dashing and bursts of wind ricocheting across our shape
an all encompassing breeze grazing our copious being as one
in this open ended sentence.
i was made from a little of this and a bit of that,
my gripping roots dangling from red and white splinters hidden
deep in every crevasse and silhouette.
but locked in this forboding abyss is something warm and filled
with an ever lasting glow
for i can be electric
and i can be magnetic
and i can be the creation of power that ceases this escape.
breathe me in with your silence and your love
and i will never loose this heart
because my heart is this field and that ocean and those stars
waiting for some warrior to snap it in to place
i watch your lips move and your fingers search
and your hidden tapestry of subsistence
ignite from beneath my body until there is
nothing but THIS left behind.
the scent of night a blur across our lips.
sun rises, eyes open, and i wake.
good morning heavy heart, how i missed you.
Lyric fragment going through my mind as I sit here without a title, "thought I'd take a walk today, it's a mistake I sometimes make..."
(attracted to the clockface, in memory of two other flickrpic clockfaces this week)
An old stagecoach trail through the Santa Suzanah pass North of Los Angeles. Scarred rock worn from wagon wheels and holes drilled to mount block and tackle can still be seen on the trail.
A perfect mood of forboding until a dozen tiny birds landed on the tree, chattering, and lightened the atmosphere.

On my first visit to Cornwall, the county lived up to its forboding and mystic reputation. Everywhere we visited was shrouded in the fogs time and rain ...

This is right next to the Lowry Theatre in Salford Quays. The skies were looking very dark and forboding but it didn't rain, surprisingly.
An old shot, one of the last I took, from my Canon EOS 30. Many a photograph from those days, but few on Flickr. Going to get the old girl out again shortly and revisit some of the city locations.
Day 20/365 - Clouds moving accross the sky above my house one January evening. These clouds & the wind that's been whipping up all day seem to be bringing some colder weather with them. There may eve be some frost tonight! Hope it doesn't get too bad -- I'm really looking forward to having some strawberries soon, and too much cold ruins 'em...

"When I first worked on the photo, I really liked the shadow, Agony forboding in shadow only. When I"
Easily the darkest ice cave that ive found yet. The entire surface of the cavern was covered in silt and mud. Even the ice was permeated with rounded glacial stones from 1-10 inches across. Most caves in the area are translucent enough to allow simple navigation and available-light photographs. In addition to the forboding darkness, rockfalls, surging water, and eery wind could be heard from the depths.
oh, the G4 powerbook has once again shown signs of impending retirement...
this can't be normal, right?
i mean, it takes me about an hour to do something that used to take 10 minutes.
there is misery here. i can feel it coming.
"The lunatic is on the grass
The lunatic is on the grass
Remembering games and daisy chains and laughs
Got to keep the loonies on the path
The lunatic is in the hall
The lunatics are in my hall
The paper holds their folded faces to the floor
And every day the paper boy brings more
And if the dam breaks open many years too soon
And if there is no room upon the hill
And if your head explodes with dark forbodings too
I'll see you on the dark side of the moon
The lunatic is in my head
The lunatic is in my head
You raise the blade, you make the change
you re-arrange me 'till I'm sane
You lock the door
And throw away the key
There's someone in my head but it's not me
And if the cloud bursts, thunder in your ear
You shout and no one seems to hear
And if the band you're in starts playing different tunes
I'll see you on the dark side of the moon."

A matched pair for my first letter of this year's alphabet, with is not only a homophone for last year's "A", but is also the first entry in a second, less rigorous, project for this year.
The fire escape (by which I mean downstairs window) of my old flat opened out into this alleyway. I genuinely can't decide which of these two shots, separated by about 2 and a half hours, I prefer; I love the burnished oranges of the sunset one, but there's something forboding about the darkness between here and there in the after dark one. Which do you think?
I don't know why but I'm fascinated with this built up piece of roadway in Big Sur. I think it highlights (along with the many bridges), just how difficult it must have been, how much effort was required to put a road along this rugged piece of coast.
Given the amount of fog and my own experience being at sea I can imagine how forboding this coastline must have been to even 19th century mariners approaching California...
Response to brief to create book covers for a 'Futureshock set', including : A Clockwork Orange, Brave New World, 1984 & Fahrenheit 451.
I wanted to work with the theme of forboding in the books so I decided to play with shadows and working completely in B&W.
African Cemetary No. 2 sits on the north side of Lexington, Kentucky. It looks very forboding overlaid with fog on this rainy morning.
This is how our Spring was this year always the threat of rain; it made the summer and blue sky all the better
I loved finding this cloud with a sliver lining around it. It was one
of the unusual clouds of this month. Huge and forboding, but then
with this hint of glory around it's edges. May you find that God's
plans in your life come up shining with His Glory all around you.

This forboding Hotel exterior is just literally a front.. Great service and very comfortable with friendly staff.
the road less traveled or should I say NOT traveled, it looked forboding, especially if you were a cow!
i dodged the cloudes to bring them out a little, taken at Hever castle in 2010, was quite a nice day.
This is old but one of my favorite pictures. I took this in Kyoto almost a year ago and have been sifting through several of my shots from that trip with the events happening in Japan over the last several days. A lot of devastation but having spent time there, I rest easy knowing the people there are some of the most motivated and industrious people in the world. Recovery will happen sooner than later.
These are from the rather forboding entrance to a small apartment building. They were shot from the street using my 180mm f/2.8.
You can just see the sun on the mountains in the distance. Here it was dark and forboding but beautiful.
One of the only shows that I've been watching (the only new, non-reality show) this new television season is "Chuck."
Now my conspiratorial brain did not really need a new spy show but it got it anyway.
This is a door on Milwaukee Avenue in Logan square (2345 N. Milwaukee Avenue to be exact) that has secret cloak-and-dagger written all over.
I think in reality (or in cover) it's a tool and die shop. But, man, that door makes it look really forboding.
