In 2013, Lockheed Martin proposed a successor to the legendary SR-71 Blackbird, which was retired in 1998. The rationale behind this proposal was that there was a coverage gap between surveillance satellites, as one would have to wait for a satellite’s orbit to line up with a target. To be practical, the new aircraft would have to fly faster than the SR-71 to avoid modern air defenses and close that surveillance gap. The proposed concept was a hypersonic stealth UAV that was to be propelled by the simultaneous use of turbojets and scramjets. The SR-72 would have a top speed in excess of Mach 6 or 6751.97 ft/sec (almost twice the top speed of the SR-71’s Mach 3.2). While the IRL SR-72 exists only on paper, Top Gun: Maverick delivered us the first believable hypersonic aircraft on the big screen.
TGM’s take on the SR-72 is a manned hypersonic stealth aircraft with a top speed of around Mach 10. It is important to note that ridiculously fast speed is not entirely Hollywood. In 2004, NASA’s X-43 scramjet reached a record speed of Mach 9.6. In addition, the prop used in filming was constructed by the infamous Skunk Works, and it was so believable that China repositioned a spy satellite to observe it. In conclusion, TGM has shed light on a new, and exciting realm of high-speed aeronautics that is pushing the envelope of what man can do.
Dimensions of the movie prop are unavailable, so I used the IRL SR-72’s reported dimensions. The Darkstar in 1:72 scale would likely be smaller than this model; but nonetheless, I am still very happy with how this model turned out. I am still a little iffy on the windshields, but the only way to achieve the exact shape would be to print it. The model has retractable main gear and the nose gear can be removed, so the underside of the model is flush for “flight”. I hope y'all enjoy it, and happy building!
Although you really cannot tell from the pic, the LED in the follower is actually a tri-color (blue/green/red.) When the LED is on, you can still make out the circuits on the surface and it looks like the contours of the real thing. Here's a link:

Croke Park is a GAA stadium located in Dublin, Ireland. Named in honour of Archbishop Thomas Croke it is often called Croker by some GAA followers in Dublin, it serves both as the principal stadium and headquarters of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA).
Since 1884 the site has been used primarily by the GAA to host Gaelic games, most notably the annual All-Ireland finals in football and hurling. Both the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2003 Special Olympics, as well as numerous music concerts by major international acts, have been held in the stadium. During the construction of the Aviva Stadium, Croke Park hosted games played by the Ireland national rugby union team team and the Republic of Ireland national football team. In June 2012, the stadium was used to host the closing ceremony of the 50th International Eucharistic Congress during which Pope Benedict XVI gave an address over video link to approximately eighty thousand people.
Following a redevelopment programme started in the 1990s, Croke Park has a capacity of 82,300,making it the third largest stadium in Europe, and the largest not primarily used for association football.
The Hindu followers are reaching on to the river's edge, to move further on the to temple to perform religious activities, forming part of the Shivratri event. The event of Maha Shivratri was celebrated by the Pakistani Hindu community living in Kotri and Hyderabad on March 7, 2016, at the Shiv Temple situated by the bank of River Indus, Kotri.
A large number of the Hindu followers visited the temple and perform pujas and the rituals over the place to mark the day. There live some 3 million Hindus in Pakistan and majority of those are populated in the southern province of Sindh.

Early this morning, before the sun had reared its head, I was in the garage being a rule-follower as I taped over my political bumper stickers since I was hoping to park within 150 feet of the polling place where I spent thirteen hours today (as a poll watcher). If my car had been even six inches longer, I would not have been able to park that close. At 6:30 a.m. cars were parked at least half a mile away (before the 7 a.m. poll opening). But I managed to create a place for my wonderful little Honda Fit. (I took this picture hours later. There was nothing like this amount of "blank space" around the car when I parked this morning.) I am happy to report that I pulled off the tape tonight and found that both my Obama sticker and my Mississippi Democratic Club sticker were still intact. (Picture taken with cell phone.)

I suck at blogging. I really do. But I know that several brides love looking at blogs for ideas as well as to look at the recent work of a potential photographer. I even have 58 “followers” . So I photographed 28 weddings last year and I think I blogged about 7 of them. My goal this year is to blog them on my main blog as well as on my FB Fan page.
So what I just did is blogged my favorite photos from my four Destination Weddings that I photographed in 2010. Italy, Canada, Wisconsin & Catalina Island. Truth be told, I don’t charge as much as I could/should for destination weddings, because let’s face it, I do get to travel for free. And two weeks from tonight, I’m off to Montego Bay, Jamaica for my first of 3 destination weddings this year. Mmmmm jerk sauce!
When you are a follower you are in the company of many, but when you are a leader you do the job alone.

Faithful fans turned out in force to watch KCS 1776 lead Train 255 through Winona, MN. We were following 1776 on the FB groups as soon as it came out of the Wabtec factory. We were excited when this brand new unit made it to Chicago just 4 days later, and astounded when they put it on 255 that night!!!
