Withnell Fold is a village off the beaten track. It's partial obscurity is due to not being on a 'through road'. It takes it's name from the nearby farm of Withnell Fold which has a date stone of 1736. However the building of the village wasn't started until 1843/44 to house mill workers. The building of a 'Paper Mill' was started by Thomas Blinkhorn Parke in 1843 and the first paper was produced in 1844.
The last time i came here was in 1995...i just about remembered where the turn-off was...great little scenic place...no pub there though...i was on my way to Brinscall after this so popped in The Dressers Arms on the way there...nice pub too...
Brenda's folded hands across the table. I took this pic because I liked the shadows and reflections of the folded hands.

I held a series of three sessions at KPF NY demonstrating severals ways to transform a flat single sheet of paper into a complex form. I demonstrated folds that used both standard origami techniques (square paper, no cutting) and more modern approaches (laser-cut and -scored curves). The square forms date back to the Bauhaus movement and I was inspired by the work I did for Erik and Marty Demaine when choosing the shapes of the curved forms. Special thanks also to Alex Soijka who helped with the video.

Rachel MacPhee's folded paper Photoshop assignment.
Students started with just a flat image of a map and had to make it look like it is folded, add shadows, and place it on a background.
Audio signals written to a space-filling curve. Three signals, one for each RGB color channel, result in complex folded rainbows. Other processes add dynamic range and edge effects. All done with GlitchSort, an app written in Processing.

Thanks to Jennifer for this photo. For those who don't already know, my folding bike has a twin, and someone else was riding it during the South Side History Bike Tour! Aww!
summary ....
A large piezo is folded & inserted in the oval enclosure.
The triggers will emit a higher output ( hot signal ).
They are multidimensional...each side will produce a different signal level
so i can manually regulate the output by altering the point of contact.
They can also be used as contact microphones or guitar pickups.
oval conduit is 16mm & the openings are sealed with mini highlighter pen caps.
I use the copper connectors from 3 amp electrical terminal block to fasten the wires to any surface..
