Another shot in the fog. This one is looking east from the service road that runs along the boundary of the Marovitz Golf Course.
This morning at the tidal basin. I think this is the closest we'll come to a white Christmas this year. Fog in 70 degree weather.
Merry Christmas <3
Was going for the minimalistic approach here. Fogs sure helps with that. We tend not to have much in the way of dramatic atmosphere in AZ.....bright sun dominates so it was a treat to see the dense fog this morning.
This morning's low fog was pretty shocking to say the least. I have been waiting years for something like this. Typically this type of fog only happens in winter, but for some strange reason it happened in August. This is the foothills of Silicon Valley.
Wishing everyone a great weekend!
Thanks for looking!
Tonight in Quebec, the St-Laurent river valley was filled with fog. What an incredible opportunity to go out and shoot. Too bad it's two week late of the #MistAndFog #FlickrFriday challenge (=
Fog rolling over the Marin Headlands towards Sausalito. Shot from the Tiburon Uplands Nature Preserve.
There was some low fog during the afternoon today. As the sun got lower, I could see on the cams that the bridge was socked in, but it was still sunny in Tiburon, so I tried out this spot. Maybe on the far side from the bridge and city.
100-400 @ 275mm, f/13, 25s. ND64?
[ Update: reposted a slightly brighter version, as the original looked too dark on an iPad. ]
The fog creates a dreamlike state over the Mississippi River and the Centennial Bridge.
A year ago today, we were shoveling 18 inches of snow. You don't have to shovel fog. I like it.
A shot from 2005. Canon EOS 20D and Canon EF 50mm f2.5 compact macro. Interesting revisiting older RAW files in the latest versions of processing software (DXO). Chilterns, Buckinghamshire
For my Rail Visions entry this month for the fog theme, here is a UP freight piercing through the early morning fog at DeKalb, IL, on 8-2-11.

HAVE A GREAT DAY EVERYONE!
River Settlement Fog
An early morning found me on a river in the backcountry of Tennessee searching for waterfowl. With the heavy fog I thought it would make a great setting for the birds on the river. Before I reached my intended destination I came upon this small settlement on the river. I immediately forgot about the birds as my imagination went into overdrive and I did not want to pass up the opportunity. It turned out to be the best image made that morning. The waterfowl? Nothing comparable. A lesson in why not to stay fixated on a subject or scene idea.
