From last year's trip in the Temagami area. It wasn't a very productive trip photography-wise due to the bugs and all the rain. Backcountry Temagami is still very lightly travelled.
NS loaded coal train 76Z rolls along the final mileage before entering the power plant in Juliette, GA on a foggy winter morning.
There is a balance in all things
This fog really made an impression on me
It was wet all over the place
I had 20 meters clear sight
The lake was all magic and I had to blink with my eyes when I saw where the fog met the lakes surface
Utterly cool experience
Yet again I had no other expectations than breathing in the foggy atmosphere and ended up with a wonderful day
I should have gone out couple of hours earlier today. The fog descended before I was five minutes down the road.

The inward light is forever striving to gather enough additional light to penetrate the fog of our senses. ~Henry Stanley Haskins
...And under the oppression of the silent fog
The tolling bell
Measures time not our time, rung by the unhurried
Ground swell, a time
Older than the time of chronometers, older
Than time counted by anxious worried women
Lying awake, calculating the future,
Trying to unweave, unwind, unravel
And piece together the past and the future,
Between midnight and dawn, when the past is all deception,
The future futureless, before the morning watch
When time stops and time is never ending...
~ from the Dry Salvages, by T.S. Eliot
Hi everybody! Thank you to all who have expressed concern over my disappearance - and yes, I'm fine, I just haven't had time to flickr due to other obligations. I've missed you all horribly and am back for a week or two. Smooches!
The morning ground fog gave the trees an ethereal look. Recent rains have turned the hills a vibrant green.
Photo was taken in Marin county, California.
Thick fog all over Liverpool today, made for some atmospheric pictures (IMO). I've never shot in foggy conditions before but it was surprisingly pleasurable and yielded good results, I think, so next time the weather turns bad, get out there and take them!
